What a great short presentation! I dearly appreciate you letting us know about our yang diminishing as we age. This answers one of my ageing effects questions. Much thanks! 👍

Amazing content. I drink warm water first thing in the morning too. I also try to get some sun to bring up the yang in the body :D. Would love to see more content such as meal prep for a week for such a diet. Please keep it up!

Oooow... meal prep would be a good one! I primarily do soups as that's my thing, but will consider throwing in a few recipes that I cook as well! Thank you so much!!

I have excessive Metal from taking Ephedra and other herbs. I have difficulty with my Metal/Water Interactions because I've never been married. I am very Herbal and have been since 1999. I protect my health with Diet, Herbs, Qigong and Tai Chi. I used to practice Silat and Escrima.

I love this and how you practice wholeness, both through diet and through the body (with qigong and tai chi). It's important... they are connected! Thank you for sharing!

This is exactly what I needed. Thank you! Any chance you can share what you eat in a day or in a week for those of us not familiar with traditional Chinese nutrition/diet? Thank you so much!

Hi! This is a great idea for a post. However, it also depends on what you're trying to achieve or balance. In general, it's very much aligned with Western principles: fresh food (not processed, unless herbs, but still from natural sources), lean meats, a lot of vegetables, less oil, less fried, balanced sodium, and always a soup for dinner. The key principles are really to balance the yin and yang. I'm filing this for a post (which is such a fantastic suggestion!). So a regular day would include: Steamed pork patty (with ginger - since it's winter and want to add more warmth to the family), steamed white rice (always... and it tends to be white rice and not brown rice), blanched and then gently wok fried fresh veggies with garlic - serve with oyster sauce, or steamed tofu (which can be cooling, so I'll add in garlic and ginger slices), or stir-fried egg plant. Or noodles in soup. There is a lot of variety in Chinese food, but sticking to basic principles is useful. Hope this helps provide an initial lens, but will share more! Key thing - stick to the TCM principles of balanced body (Yin and Yang).

Thank you so much dear Soup Lady. As I am new to Chinese nutrition and idea of balancing yin and yang, this is exactly what I am looking for. I am looking forward for a future post on this theme. Thank you again!

I have become a fan of your channel. Are there any effective Chinese medicines for hypersensitive mucus membranes in throat, pharynx, head, abdomen, and chest tightness(rare times). Also if mental irritability, anger, anxiety are aggravated when mucus/congestion/swelling symptoms are more intense. Thanks

Hi! Sorry for this late reply! I didn't see these comments. When you say hypersensitive, what do you mean? It is itchy? Does it form easily? If so, what color? Do you cough as a result? Is there phlegm? Phlegm is symptom of imbalance internally. A common cause is dampness in the body, usually indicating a dysfunction of the spleen. This is indicated by additional symptoms like: wheezing, the tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, wheezing. I would suggest using dried tangerine peels in teas and soups (and even dishes). thechinesesouplady.com/tangerine-peels-dried/

For tropical places like where I live that it's 95 degrees (35 Celsius) 6 months of the year, do I still need a wrap?

The Traditional Chinese medicine principle is to avoid cold + wind entering from the meridian that crosses our shoulder. If you are in warm country, it's OK. However, even being in Hong Kong and Asia, it's 30C degrees now, but once you go inside, the air conditioning is the risk. That's why I still carry a wrap or sweater when I am in Asia. Just keep that in mind, and you'll be good! Adjust accordingly. Hope this helps!
