I’ve been at a size 0 for two years now. Decided to try out the double flares. The amount of lube I used was insane, and they would not go in. I had 3 different kinds of double flared plugs, and now the only thing I have are sore ears

Try wearing some glass single flare plugs for a month or so they’re a lil heavier so they’ll slowly stretch your ear over time, i dead stretched all the way to 5/8 never had an issue sliding in the next size up

Ive been at 0g for 2 years now as well and I bought stone saddles from my favorite etsy shop. I have single flared ones too that fit great but I literally for the life of me cannot get the saddles on. Theyre literally SO beautiful but theyre just too wide at the flares 😭😭

I love double flared stone &glass plugs but def not a good idea to wear them in unhealed newly stretched ears🙉.I learned the hard way🤕🤦What I have found is if you're going to get double flared ,they fit in easier if your holes can stretch a little over the size you're at now.The flares are bigger than the wearable surface ,unlike single flared.Double flared stone &glass plugs are awesome for slowly sizing up over time too..because of the heavier weight.👍

Been at a 00g (10mm) for close to a year now and I have issues getting double flares in. I have this one pair of glass plugs (I think I got them from UBJ) that are a sort of "one-and-a-half" flare, i.e. the flare is smaller on one side, and those go in fine...I know it's probably harder to make that shape with stone, but I wish more of the stone plugs were like that. I'll keep trying and keep oiling my ears, but for now I'll have to stick with screw-backs or silicone.

Ugghh my one ear was kinda difficult but I did it in the shower under heat but my right ear feels like it is not a 2 ga but it's been weeks. Guess I'll keep my taper in the ear not cooperating alittle longer..

After maybe 6 months or a year or so on staying at that size, will that stone plug start to fall out or not? It keeps on bothering me. Hope you or someone can confirm this please, thanks so much!

Sometimes! I’ve had them fall out on me a few times before. I recommend getting the plugs that have the screw backs so they don’t fall out!

What’s better using tapers or dead stretching?
@ANGP21

Of all the videos that I watched, most of them says it's the taping method, not any of the two that you've mentioned. If you don't prefer taping method, then dead stretching would be better than tapers.

Dead stretching with single flared half size plugs is the best. I don't recommend tapers to anyone, they damage your lobes tremendously

Urban Body Jewelry and Arctic Buffalo sell half size glass plugs for dead stretching. If you’d rather not do that, then taping is another safe method. Tapering is the ABSOLUTE WORST method. You may get away with it for all of the half millimeter stretches, but as soon as the gauges become at least 1 millimeter apart, it WILL cause blowout. Tapers are meant to guide jewelry that already fits the gauge of your piercing. They are not meant to stretch with. The safest method is dead stretching.

0g for 2+ years. Tried some 0g stone double flares (flares are probably 1 to 1.5mm) and nope. Not going. Not matter how much lube. All its going to do is rip my ears. It makes me mad because i hate single flares but havent been able to fit anything but that for 2 years.
@iRusiko

Yep, it's crazy hard. I think, it should be some stretching beforehand. Or just get yourself double flares that one size smaller than you current size. It will lower your size, then. I've ended up with this in strategy, lol

@iRusiko

No, 3/4" is 19.05 mm (inch is 25.4 mm, then 25.4*3/4=19.05 mm. 19 mm is standard size for plugs usually available in stores. So it's still long way ahead for you, lol.
