This is nice to see since I imagined cobbling together just such a setup, probably using some very similar bits from a deceased Gen 3 Camry. However, if you have a backup camera fetish as I do, you need a double DIN head unit for the screen so the problem remains. Perhaps some titanium and carbon fiber robot arm arrangement will be devised by an enterprising entrepreneur one day soon.

Haha sounds like a serious project! I would say if you have to have a double din screen your best cup holder option is one of those removable ones that hook on the center by the e brake.

@@SnowWhiteMR2 cuz I use cds. There's people who buy them for the extra goodies they include, album art, lyrics, stuff like that. People who rather use simple cell phone so no Spotify. People who has no internet so they can't download music anyways (common in third world countries). And people like me who wants both physical and digital ways of listening to music. Cds aren't that outdated, you can put em on your computer and rip the files. I don't mean to be rude but, I do feel old whenever I hear people say, who listens to cds?
@c5cpe

Chad, not only do I use CDs, but I still make them. I buy blank CDs from the store, go to the library, use KZitem converter, and Media Player. Media Player has a function to convert music to data and I get 130songs with info display on one cd. Same quality too. I rip only/all the songs that I like. I ask everybody who pays for streaming, "Do you get every song that you like?" All they can say is no, but they're paying for it anyway. I'm older, so I know a lot more songs and ALL are my personal favorites. Y'all let me know when a stream I'll have to pay for does that and I'll reconsider...

@@SnowWhiteMR2 If you own a Bryston BCD-3, CDs sound better than anything else, in a seriously good system, because it incorporates some superb engineering. Otherwise, lossless files are the way to go. Streaming and mp3 are great if sound quality is irrelevant. (Of courser I'm a snob. Was there any doubt?)

That wiring seriously that's terrible, make the connections properly, do i right do it once, i cannot believe how people expect this twist connectors to make a proper electrical connection. those things are total rubbish!! They will snap conductors without you knowing, will cause high resistance joints. I've seen these things used on many projects, and were a cause of continued problems until they were replaced, or the system rewired!! Some of these things are enormous, if for no other reason for not using them, ...they look downright unprofessional. Fact: These things have been found to be the cause of many domestic house fires and commercial park fires, in the USA. Reputable & fully certified Electrical engineers or companies here in the UK will not give those things house room . Personally every time I've found a auto issue with wiring its down to these or people twisting & taping connections. Same issue in domestic application home owner decided to do some work themselves extending the ring main, srewits everywhere. One or two of them had been used under floorboards etc., with no enclosure. I pulled on one of the cables and the connection just broke apart. they are the devils' choice of connector. Found them in abundance on M.O.D tackle (genys, workshop heaters and floods) Incapable of tolerating vibration and touch one - the others all come loose in sympathy! so please please do a proper job on hose connections, before they cause you problems, just friendly advice from a fellow MR2 Owner :-)
