Problem is when you are 16 years old and yoi have free time and you practice and acheive good results it is super convenient option to say nothing when you are 20+. I feel like a lot of people find them selves in tricky situation: their level is average or a bit above average, they are 20+ and they need to make this choice - continiue with full time breaking of find a job. Lets be honest - it is hard to earn money as a full time bboy however if you do full time job you bboy pracice eefectiveness goes down. Ofc id you are 20 and you are already an internationally known bboy it is obvious you have a good future in breaking. No guarantee but chances are higher. For everyone else its a tough choice. I personaly found myself in this situation recently however decided that i would better trear breaking as a hobby. I do practice hard but ofc not the same 25+ hours a week. And i like this. Not everyone should be a full time bboy. If is your dream - just fo for it. Be bboy fanatic (in a positive way) I dont see myself as a bc one champ some day and do that for fun. And doing this for fun it is actually the biggest thing we are missing today. Just my opinion on this topic

bro so true- in highschool I had so much free time and dedicated most of my energy and time towards breaking.. fast forward a few years, im now entering my senior year of college, preparing myself for a career in the workforce, and working a 9-5. I think its crazy to see how much your life actually reflects on your breaking, its very much a journey. In highschool all I wanted to do was win jams and competitions which is still something I strive for but because of school, work, being busy, focusing on other aspects of my life, its deviated my time and energy away from competitive breaking. Nowadays my mindset really isn't really about getting Ws anymore but more rather just straight love and being more appreciative of getting down- being able to get off a 9-5 job, hitting up the homies, dancing together and just having fun is really the vibes I look forward to from my day to day life. I think a good supplement to watch is Bboy Zeshen's interview on Strife TV where he talks about his real life going to med school to become a doctor and how thats balanced out as he breaks mainly for the love and fun of the dance itself now. pce

justin.rlm true. After the work u just wanna dance and have fun. Not practicing my sets all session so i will have less chances to crash on a next competition. I am not sayong we should stop practicing hard but the sacrifice level is not the same anymore. If u wanna be a full time bboy you have to sacrifice a lot (work, money, girldfriend, friends, free time). And when u are a student you can balance all this. Then the more grown up u get it becomes harder and harder. Being a pro bboy is a path not for everyone. So take it easy. Peace unity and having fun

Yeah its true., now I'm 29 yrs old and I'm haved wife and child ., I'm still practicing and breaking ones or twice a week., its really different when I was teenager ., its hard to go on jam or competition., even my wife supporting me in my breaking its hard for me because of my job., for now I'm doing my breaking just for fun and for my crew and for the next generation of our crew.,

Here in Israel you must go to the Army when you turn 18 and graduates. I started when I was 14 and now I'm 19 which means I am in the army right now without the time that I used to have back in the days. I miss them old days in high school when I used to practice almost everyday with my crew. Just wanted to share this, keep the culture alive 💥🧢🌊😎

I started breaking in 2015 and am now 24 turning 25 this year. I have a full time job as a consultant but that doesn't stop me from breaking 3 hours three days a week + 1 hour four days a week. It's not easy but I don't mind at all since I like bboying so much. I'm nowhere near pro level but now that I have disposable income I've decided to take breaking classes and see how far I can stretch my limits. I'm not in a hurry to become a professional bboy or anything since I'm already way too old for that (that and I started later than most).

amazing, the first message is almost perfectly the same situation than mine ! I'm 23 years old, I'm studiying in an engineering school and I don't have a lot of time to train but bboying is my passion since 5 years and my dream is to have the skills and the opportunity to compete against famous bboys like Jinjo Crew, Hong 10, Menno etc and to compete in competitions like RBBC1 and BOTY but I don't know if I can do a such sacrifice that my engineer career in order to realize my dream...it's so risky and actually, there is only a handful bboys on this planet which has any chance to make a living from battling...
