Can you elaborate on why you would avoid a high paying job? Or link to a video where you already dive into that topic. For context, I’m listening to this video while sitting at my high paying job 😂

Thanks for the laugh! My suggestion, if you want to live with financial peace, is NOT to bet the farm on being able to maintain a high paying job. Another way to say the same thing might be to NOT let yourself become dependent on having a high paying job. If you NEED a high paying job in order to pay your monthly bills, you will probably feel a great deal of financial stress. The goal would be to be in a position where you don't NEED a high paying job... so you would have the ability to say f-you to your employer at any point in time.

It's not that you avoid a high paying job. You want to avoid your lifestyle from depending on a high paying job.

Yes, this little strategy doesn't seem like it would be helpful until you actually give it a try. When you make a long list of the specific things you would do to get the exact opposite of what you want, you'll begin to see where your actions/habits/routines aren't congruent with your goal(s). One of my goals is to have a lot of energy and feel great every day. To use this strategy with this goal, I would list the specific things I do to feel like shit with no energy: 1. I wouldn't exercise. 2. Whenever I had any free time, I'd binge watch stupid stuff on TV. 3. I'd have a few drinks every night. In addition to making me feel like shit, it would also mess up my sleep. 4. Because I wasn't sleeping well, I'd have zero discipline with food...so I'd binge eat carbs and sugar. 5. I would try to spend a lot of time with other people who feel like shit with no energy. 6. I wouldn't watch any documentaries of people doing amazing things. 7. I wouldn't read any books about people who've done amazing things. 8. I'd... When I did this for myself a year or two ago, it was very easy to see how incongruent my daily routine for this goal. My nightly intake of alcohol created a negative compounding effect taking me further away from my goal. I think this is so helpful because we tend to operate on autopilot from day-to-day. Being on autopilot is only helpful when it's moving us closer to what we want in life.

@@cashflownaire Thanks very much, now I feel a lil' bit worse. Not really, PTSD been a factor for three decades. I get outa bed for breaky beers, I do number six though. I'm sad however I'm giving everything to my son so I can get a full pension soon. I trust my son to contribute cash, maybe I done a good thing, time will tell.
