The man says, "I hope there is". 😄 I also really appreciated the man speaker about how to lose body fat, he was humble and direct to the point. Thank you, for your videos and choice of speakers you have here. 🌹I injured my back back in 2007, never have got back what I lost. Now I have pounds to lose and I am determined this year to take it off, I DON'T want belly fat any longer, from someone who was always athletic and fit, from now being over weight with a back disability it has been a long and strange journey trying to manage chronic pain everyday. I was diagnosed with POP three years ago, after I coughed so hard from bronchitis, but I knew it was because I was unfit from my disabled back making me weak. Losing weight is my biggest priority for the sake of my health and body and to lighten up on my injured body that needs relief. I have been vegetarian since 2008 from white meat and I haven't eaten red meat since 1985. I do eat eggs, dairy, and fish. I have plenty of food sensitivities now too, and I don't eat gluten because of a thyroid condition called Hashimotos. You guys rock in Australia!

Wow I really like the fat representation(Visual learner ) and quick deep detail presentation of the information ! Key points I am taking away 1)Toxins are released from abdominal fat 2)Energy deficient is necessary to lose weight-Consuming just enough food will help you maintain the weight-Have definitely been stuck on a weight for some time ,this explains so much 3)-Fasting need to be balanced in order for the diet to work, plus greens

Hello Michelle Kenway , I am a mom of 3 and I am stuck at being skinny fat. I have been trying to lose my belly fat for years now. I like eating fruit and vegetables. I also like eating Greek vanilla yogurt as well with blueberries. But I also crave sugar and carbs mainly sugar. I started to lose weight but everything is getting smaller. My legs are thinning as well as my arms . I really don't want to get smaller legs and arms . What would you suggest ? I talked with my doctor but she said just eat healthier and exercise. I have been doing so but I do eat cheeseburgers here and there as well as pizza but only 1 small cheeseburger or maybe 2 slices of cheese pizza. I have always had an small appetite. I eat small portions but Belly fat is so hard to lose.

@michellephysio

@nalinitippa2130 Hello there, thank you so much for your super thanks, this will go into creating more content. Home exercises for weight loss really vary from person to person depending on general health, time available and other physical factors too. A home exercise program as simple as walking can assist weight loss and weight management, especially alternating brisk and regular pace. The American College of Sports Medicine (2009) set the recommended guidelines for weight loss exercise and state that healthy adults aged 18 - 65 aim to complete 150-250 mins of moderate intensity aerobic exercise per week. Moderate intensity is exercise that increases breathing but allows conversation while exercising. Some people start at intervals of 10 minutes of exercise throughout the day. I like to encourage people to perform exercise they enjoy doing and incorporate this into daily routine. I hope this is helpful and wishing you all the very best!🙏

Haha, I personally think it's because of salt, not calories that we need to keep a safe distance from our favourite chips.😅 But it's alright to eat some with friends or keep some leftover in airtight container. We don't really need to run miles every time we eat high calorie foods. Hanging with friends, doing some chores, helping others, feeling happy and specially, not getting stressed over looks will work just fine. We just need to have little bit control over our desire. Hahaha. And it's hardest for new moms! I'm a mother of three and middle aged so it's nice to get some help and and take care of the health that started experiencing aging. Thank You Michelle.

Doing HiLo 3x a week sounds good. But then you suggested doing 40mins cardio. So how does the 15mins HiLo cardio and other 40mins cardio fit into a week with also several days weight training? (I’m a bit confused) Like what would a typical weeks worth of workouts look like?
@michellephysio
Жыл бұрын
@Kelsie Linnell great question, you could do all hi-lo (ie 3 sessions) or if you’re not doing a Hilo do a 40-minute moderate-intensity session instead. Sometimes I just don’t feel like doing Hilo so I’ll do a straight out 40min session however if you’re sticking to evidence-based exercise, then the 3xhilo sessions is ideal.

How about those shaking platforms you stand on, which vibrate your body and toss your belly fat all around? I would think these would at least redistribute your belly fat, presuming the major problem is fat PLACEMENT rather than total quantity? Right?
@michellephysio
Жыл бұрын
@Steve Richfield the shaking platforms do absolutely nothing to redistribute body fat or help individuals lose weight - save your hard-earned dollars. An external force applied to the body won’t involve you using any energy. Energy use needs to come from within your body for weight reduction.

Hi Michelle, Great video, thank you. I would just like some clarification. I can walk for 5 minutes to warm up, then for 15 minutes I need to speed walk for 8 seconds and slower walk for 15 seconds, repeat this for the 15 minutes. Then 'warm down' for another 5 minutes. Is that right? I'm off my bike with a lumbar problem at the moment so i want to be able to do this walking, and can't run because I need to protect my pf. Is it also ok to insert 3 x 5 minutes of this into an hour walk? Cheers, Veronica
@michellephysio
3 жыл бұрын
@VeronicaHendrickson to clarify walk 5 mins warm up, then fastest possible walk 8 secs and moderate walk 12 seconds and repeat this cycle for 15 minutes. I personally like to add a slow 5 minute cool down to however this isn't mentioned in the research studies investigating the ideal hilo exercise prescription. This will work on most modalities; cycle, treadmill, rowing machine etc. All the best! 🙏❤️

@michellephysio

@Anita Hurd with a torn meniscus you will benefit from a personalized exercise prescription from a Physical Therapist to minimize muscle wasting (which starts immediately following the injury). Your Physio will assess your existing muscle function and prescribe accordingly. This is an important part of meniscus rehab and can prevent further issues down the track.

Hi Michelle, love the videos. So I don’t carry a lot of weight but I do have a lot of visceral fat in and around my stomach, a genuine potbelly. I’m in the process of changing my diet but the problem is I can easily lose weight anywhere on my body except my stomach. It’s actually frustrating. Any recommendations. Also I’m thinking about getting a juicer to help with the changing of my diet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@michellephysio
3 жыл бұрын
@The Rush yes I hear you and understand what you're saying. The most effective way to target losing stomach or visceral fat is though hilo exercise (interval training). This has been shown repeatedly in the abdominal fat reduction and exercise studies at the University of Sydney fat lab (Australia). I would personally suggest against a juicer - the bulk of the food we eat (fibre) is what fills us up and it can become very easy to consume alot of energy (calories) in fruit juices. The alternative would be vegetable juices which would be a better diet management approach but whole foods are best at the end of the day. All the best in your quest! 🙏❤️

What you call "Mediterranean diet," (what Italians in Italy eat,) consists of daily spaghetti, a rich breakfast with cappuccino and a couple of pastries, a 10 am sandwich, a lunch which includes, Spaghetti, a steak and veggies, an espresso and most days a piece of cake or cockles. Then a 3 pm sandwich and a supper which consists of fish or chicken with a side salad. Then if you stay up late, you may order a pizza or something. I lived in Italy up to age 23, I ate like such daily. I am 6 feet tall and I weighed 175 Lb. Once I moved to Canada, I ballooned to 285 within 2 years. And to lose it I had to struggle basically all my life. I am now 200 and I am almost there. So here is the real reason. EXERCISE!!! Here is proof. I go to Italy every couple years. I usually stay 2 weeks, I eat like a pig, 6 rich meals a day, and I go back to Canada 10 Lb lighter. Why? In Italy you never sit. You are always walking, talking, singing, etc. You basically never watch TV. you are always hungry and you do not gain any weight. In Canada, the opposite. So, morale of the story is, that the real solution is to "keep moving". Walk daily, exercise, and stop worrying about your food. In other words, think of food as a fuel and not as entertainment. You do not fill your car up when it is full right? So you body is the same, It will tell you when you when it needs fuel. That simple.

Dr. Sten Ekberg has a new video out today called "Lose belly fat but don't eat these common foods". Anyone intrrested in losing belly fat should watch it. Dr. Sten Ekberg is a doctor of functional medicine and a former olympic athlete. His videos are fantastic and have literally saved my life. Not surprisingly, he has 1.28 M subscribers !!!!!

@@michellephysio thank you for replying. I was waiting 😊. Will you be coming up with any Hilo workouts without equipment? Else running for 8 and walking for 12 should also be the same right??
@michellephysio

@@anjaliagrawal4095 yes I can do a statioanry hilo bike workout if this helps? I think it's a great idea Anjali. Yes HiLo also applies to walking and running however running is challenging for people who are overweight, increases injury risk and not appropriate for women with, or at risk of pelvic floor problems. A safer option would be alternating 8 secs really brisk walk with 12 secs moderate speed 💜

@@anjaliagrawal4095 Yes that makes good sense, not everyone has access to a bike or wants to have one sitting in their home. Stationary is great because it uses the large leg muscles for fat burning/fitness and has low injury risk. I'm glad you liked hearing from D'Arcy, he completed the interview in one take which was a good effort considering it was his first time in front of the camera! I've asked him (very nicely) if he'll come back on again and he has agreed so I'll keep you posted on that :) Here's my other son Aiden. I tried to talk him out of KZitem as a career choice and this is what has happened kzitem.info/rock/EeJxhzyKSTllNNBMlRaHHQ ... he has taught me a very good lesson in life ... to let my kids choose their own path and they absolutely love what they do All the best Anjali 🙏

Hi Lands Sports, great question! I do know that strength training increases testoseterone in men and should have a positive effect. Belly fat definitely loads the pelvic floor making it much harder to activate and train pelvic floor muscles so I would say the effects are potentially indirect but definitely real, all the best to you!

@@michellephysioDepriving yourself would indicate more of a fasting or starvation. That wasn't my point. I guess it comes down to what is considered a "diet" obviously you are trying to refer to the regional style of food, but you are also indicating that this type of meal option is great for losing weight/staying healthy. Which ultimately means it is a type of dieting. But I fully agree with you. Having a proper diet and regularly working out is essential to losing weight. I'm just poking fun at how hard you guys are trying to avoid the word diet just to prove a point. Great information over all!
