Ya know... If my wife still ate bread... I'd make one. Other than that... love the variety of tools used. Love the convenience of the way it hangs on the board. L8er James.

Hey great video! Thank-you! Just in time for Christmas. I think i will use an old bandsaw blade for this project. Hopefully thats food safe enough lol. Should be. Bandsaws are used in the butcher room.

Almost done! Works great. But i need to bang the bandsaw blade down. The blades teeth are jagged. Once i bang them i think it'll be good to go.

Super idea James. That’s a project that would be great for gifts. I’ll have to file this one away for a future quick project. I’m looking forward to the breadboard video later this week. Thanks.

Hi James Great video, with nice start (as usual). Very timely for me, just starting on my woodworking hobby, and a great fan of fiddle bow bread saws. I couldn’t find a convenient place to hang it, so my first woodworking project was to make a breadboard with a cavity to hold the bread saw. I used a power router as I could not imagine using a chisel or hand router to excavate the wood. I would upload a pic if I could, as it looks better than I expected, and works very well - might just inspire you to show us how to do the same with hand tools! Michael

I'm loving this series of beginner woodworking projects James. I find myself buying more and more hand tools now. I absolutely love old saws and there history. Mainly Disston being from Philadelphia subberbs. I buy every one I find no matter what make, at worst I upcycle the blade & saw nuts into different saws or scrapers, making a new handle for a saw is very relaxing and rewarding. By the way what was that block plane you were using? Was it a low-angle Sargent 5206 I believe, it looks exactly like one I just acquired at a flea market for five bucks! I love the darn thing lol. Any way keep up the great work James love these beginner videos.

I'm a little late to this here party but nice project. While I'm a power tool guy myself I enjoyed watching your technique. You lost me with the flat head screws which I'm not even sure why they still sell but really nice project.

Thanks. Regular screws they are pain. But for larger head screws they're often very useful.

Someone got me a weird looking thing to cut bread It is harder to use than a typical bread knife though It wabbles and takes much more effort for me. Maybe its my small size and lightweight. I cant seem to use it well at all.
