A clinometer is a tool that is used to measure the angle of elevation,
or angle from the ground, in a right-angled triangle. You can use a
clinometer to measure the height of tall things that you can't
possibly reach to the top of, flag poles, buildings, and trees.
Today in this session we are going to make a clinometer.
Material Required: A sheet of white paper, Protractor, Straw,
heavyweight - nut, String, cello tape, Scissor
Procedure:
1) Apply glue to the reverse side of the protractor.
2) Paste the protractor to the white paper.
3) Cut the paper from the edges of the protractor using a pair of scissors.
4) Tie the string to the heavyweight
5) Secure the free end of the string to the centre line of the
protractor using a cell tape.
6) Secure the straw on the 180-degree line of the protractor using cello tape.
