G'day Chris, Thanks for a great video. As an average guitarist who owns Lynda (blonde Tele), Abraxus (ebony Epi Les Paul), & Layla (Laverda Formula), it's good to see that I'm not the only one naming inanimate objects. LOL Keep up the good work. I'll catch you in your next video. Get well soon Andrew

Great video, good visualisation of log vs linear. I did notice on the position 9 reading on the original pot, it was reading ohms not kilohms, which explains the funny roll off on your graph down near the low resistance. But it still explains the concept none the less.

If you are seeking more sustain - Faber offer longer brass bridge posts for the ABR-1 (1.5 inch). I had a dull sounding 335 that sprang to life when I did both the posts and new Faber bridge ( brass saddles) upgrade. I subscribe to the view that a good (unplugged) acoustic sound is a quick way to differentiate amongst similar guitars. Agree that "beano" sound was Eric at his angry best ..... ( Peter Green was a worthy replacement though). Nice video - and hope you fully recover from 'rona.

Thanks for the Faber suggestion. I’ll look it up and keep that on file for my customers. I agree 100% about auditioning a solid body’s unplugged sound. I can tell in under a minute if a guitar is going to work for me or not. So many wankers who want to wail on a guitar in-store!!

@@theguitaramptech Yes, let's keep our sites on the positive memories! I don't want to dwell on the negative stuff. I will say each one of the pieces that I let go, I have very found memories with using playing gigs with. I guess when you playing guitar in your teens and early/mid 20s, you just are not realizing just how good those times are in the moment. They were stellar and I would not trade those memories for anything. All the best Chris. Phil

That is a very pretty top on your guitar. It's more figured than a lot of R8s, which can be quite plain. Great no-load modification to the neck pickup tone control. I might do that to mine one day. Interesting video, and I hope you're recovered from the pox. (Holy snap frozen grannies, the auto focus during your explanation of modern / vintage wiring! Aaarrrggghhh! I wouldn't normally comment on production stuff, particularly since you had the plague at the time, but that was puke-inducing! I hope your camera is better behaved for you in future or it might need percussive maintenance.)

D'oh! It's not you...it's me, Robert. I assume the main times this happens is when I record the overhead footage when I am working off my little Sony ZV1 screen. That's when I tend to have framing, focus or wobble issues. My main face-to-camera recordings are usually better as I have a great big monitor just off to the right of shot. Thanks for this heads-up, Robert. It would be fantastic if I could figure out how to run the overhead Sony into that same monitor without adding to the huge time it takes to record and edit these videos.

Yet another update, Robert. I have the adapter and used it today. So much better on a big screen. I have also gone to Manual focus. A bit more work, but that focus "hunting" is over. Have a look at the "Servicing Small Amps" video in a few weeks. Let me know what you think.

My Harley had something that made me smile, but its not for you. It’s the same with a Les Paul. I have owned a core USA PRS guitar (Custom 24) which I didn’t like as much as my Korean PRS (with the same Antiquities in this R8). A guitar is all about the joy it brings. What guitar do you play Squizzy? Please don’t tell me its an Ibanez Jem!!
