Ooooo that was a good white tail. I feel left out not having a sled to make.... would need a table saw first :P

The white tail didn't last long after his Mortein bath. Will you be getting a table saw one day? 👍👍

@@BuiltByChris One day yes. In this workshop? ...undecided. I scoped them out at Carbatec and even the jobsite saws are a lot larger than they look on KZitem in real life. Robin Lewis has survived this long without one, I reckon I'll live too. We'll see!

@@FixitFingers Have you looked at the DeWalt DWE7492-XE? I have that particular one and it worked well until I got my Sherwood. It folds away if you need the room. Worth a look, I think.

@@BuiltByChris have seen, do like. It's half the price and a little bit smaller than the Sawstop. Could well be the one as the Makita has terrible reviews and the fence on the Bosch is not as good.

@@FixitFingers There are two things about the DeWalt that I didn't like. Not a deal breaker, just annoying. First, it is loud. Much louder than the saw I have now. Second, if you get dust in the mechanism that moves the fence, it starts to get harder to move, so you have to keep blowing the dust out. Otherwise, it is a great saw.

You started the video off with the reason I do not want to ever live in Australia!! I heard you and Dirk discussing form ply, and I don't think we have that here. Everything I see cast in concrete here just uses cheap pine ply. Great sled and I really need to make one of these one day!

I hate them with a passion mate. As soon as I see one, out comes the Mortein. They don't last long after that.

Hiya Chris, I wish I had not seen this after watching a film called the guardians of the tomb! I shall not sleep tonight - I hope you safely despatched that nasty invader and I hope it did not leave you offspring to cope with. That looked all of about 6" long . . I have some fair sized ones in my workshop but they take care of small bugs and flies in the summer and they don't interact with me. I feed them on sawdust and ketchup in the winter if they won't hibernate! Great job there Chris. I hope you can recycle more than the sliders from the old saw sled. That accuracy is just amazing. The sliding character of that ply is enviable, never seen it in the UK. By the way, Dirk will be waiting for a financial reward for the value if his intellectual property in the design of that sled :) Keep well and stay safe Chris, don't let the bed bugs bite - or that 8 legged demon's cousins! 🎬👍🔨

Hi Eryk, sorry if I gave you nightmares, mate. He didn't last very long after I took the video. I hope his mates saw what I did and ran away. 😜 The table saw sled worked out a treat and being smaller than the last one, I'll more than likely be using it a lot more. And the formply really makes sliding it a joy. And Dirk will be waiting a while for his financial reward. 😜 Hope you are safe and well and thanks again for watching. Cheers mate. 👍👍

@@BuiltByChris I looked up these devilish beings on google and You Tube and I wish I hadn't! I would not last very long in Australia being absent minded and not aware of my surroundings when concentrating! I am wondering Chris, whether a small sled on a bandsaw table might be useful? On a fretsaw machine the blade might wander too much. Stay safe and may your Mortein supply never run low! 🤞🕷🔨

👍 big thumbs up Chris, the William NG method is very accurate however if you know that your fence is in alignment with the mitre slot a good square will suffice mate. #tablesawsled2021 sounds like an interesting theme 🤠🍺👍👍👍👍👍

I'll probably end up using the 5 cut method, just to get it dialled in. And with everyone making a sled, the theme sounds like a good idea. 🍺👍👍

Nicely done mate, so much easier for small to medium jobs! 👍🏽 Have you seen the simple sleds that are basically just the 2 runners and back fence? Kind of like a double runner mitre gauge, where the board that is screwed to the runners is about 4 to 6 inches in width and sits behind the fence, not in front, simple and fits any size material really. 👌🏽

That white tail was a decent size, my old man got bitten on the arm bloody ages ago and it would never ever heal, he still has a sore in that spot. Oh and your table saw sled, that was good too hahahah
