Yep, tray slides on the lowest drawers I think. Genius idea to save it from the scrapper and save you building the whole cabinet!

G'day Chris and what a great opportunity the freebies presented! I could do with about ten of those cabinets and the room to put them in! The drawer project is a ripper way of eliminating wasted space. A good safe and versatile storage space! You could make one cabinet space into a suspended file system for storing tool manuals and project drawings and magazines [of the woodworking kind of course!] Wood allows breathing whereas plastic crates can get condensation or produce toxic deterioration of some materials. You have the same spring dividers as I do - indispensible! Keep strong and keep well and as Dirk says "Hoo Roo"! Eryk 👍🔨👍🔨👍🔨👌😃

Hi Eryk, I could do with a few more of those lockers myself, and just between you and me, I picked up another from work just the other day. I'm a bit of a scrounger. You've given me a few good ideas. If you read through some of the other comments, there are quite a few good ideas. Thanks again for watching.

Good idea. Missus work was throwing out similar but bigger draw units. Should have grab them. Might have to go steal the ones aty kids high school. Plenty there🤔

Great space utilisation, mate, make every square inch count. 👌🏾 Could make those bottom jobs one big draw for rags. 🤔

@@BuiltByChris Being the bottom draw, I'd want it to be something that doesn't get used all that often, no one likes those backbreaking low ones...😣 Or perhaps it's just me and my dicky back! 😳

I added hanging files that run on tracks (like a file cabinet) and store my sand paper in each file. 100 grit goes in 1 hanging file, 150 grit next, and so on and so forth. I like what you did there and actually have a locker like cabinet I could do something similar. Thanks Chris 👍

Really nicely made even though it was not easy to film in tight spaces mate, I reckon you should leave the bottom locker openings for a box of something already close to the sizing because it’ll do your head in trying to fit draws down that low. Great work & idea for these lockers 🍻👍👍👍👍

Really good idea. I've got stuff on fixed shelves and so much wasted space (and dust!). Are those drawers removable, so you can take the drawer to where your're working easily if there's lots of little bits? Doesn't matter if not, just something I thought of.
@BuiltByChris
4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris. Yes, the drawers are removable. With the drawers being inside the lockers, I'm hoping to keep the dust at bay. Only time will tell, I guess. Thanks for watching. 👍👍👍

- Chris, it seems to me that there’s a lot of wasted space on the sides, could those drawer slides be recessed behind the lip on the sides? Surely the rollers on the drawers could still operate or am I missing something?
@BuiltByChris
4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately Joe, they need full clearance, otherwise they cannot extend out. Normally there is a drawer front covering the drawer slides, so you don't see it. I didn't put drawer fronts on in this case, because I would be losing another 12mm in depth. Cheers mate, and I hope this clears it up for you.

Chris, yes, just after I sent that comment I remembered I had the same issue on the drawers I build for my Cruiser. I decided not to use runners for that reason. I’ll go back to my nap now.
