Hello my beautiful fam! Welcome back to my kitchen today I’m going to share with you how To make some delicious birria tamales, let me tell you that they are seriously the best! Tamales are time consuming but super easy to make, I normally prep them the night before or early in the morning. It’s time consuming because the meat does take long to cook but I seriously don’t have a problem waiting, Don’t rush the process. Tip** if you want a consomé to dip your tamal add 2 extra cups of broth to your blender then take out additional 2 cups of sauce then you are going to mix it to the remaining broth you had left over 😉 I personally don’t like my tamales dip so that’s why I skipped this step 😅
Ingredients: makes about 25-30 tamales
6 cups Maseca for tamal
1 1/2 cup lard
2 tsp baking powder
4 1/2 - 4 3/4 cup beef broth/ water
Birria:
3 lbs chuck tender roast
3 roma tomatoes
1 small white onion
20 New Mexico chile pods
2 Pasilla chile pods
5 chile de árbol
7 bay leaves
10 garlic cloves
7 whole cloves
1 inch Ginger
1 inch Cinnamon stick
2 beef bouillon
2 tsp sesame seeds
1/2 tsp whole black pepper (peppercorn)
1 1/2 tsp whole cumin
2 tsp oregano
2 tsp thyme
1/4 cup white vinegar
16 oz - corn husk
1 serving of love 💕
