🧀 Homemade Shanklish cheese 🧀 Would you like to learn how to make a cheese with yogurt and spices? In this video I show you how to make Shanklish cheese, a fermented cheese that has a strong and spicy flavor, ideal to accompany with pita bread, salads or as an appetizer.
It is very easy to make at home, you only need natural yogurt, vinegar, salt and your favorite spices.
I'm going to show you how to make three different varieties of Shanklish cheese: with red spices, with oregano and black pepper and with za'atar and olive oil. Don't miss this video and subscribe to the channel for more delicious recipes!
Ingredients:
3 liters of natural yogurt
3 tablespoons of salt
1/2 cup white vinegar
Spices to taste:
Za'atar
Sumac
Paprika
Cayenne pepper
Oregano
Whole cumin
black pepper
Olive oil
Shanklish cheese is made by allowing the cheese balls to mature until they develop mold, which gives them their characteristic flavor. Don't worry, mold is not bad for your health, but is a form of fermentation that enhances the nutritional properties of the cheese. 🙌
Then they are washed, dried and covered with more spices. And so we have our Shanklish cheese ready to eat with pita bread, salads or whatever we want. 🥗
