Ingredients for Kandil Simidi:
Three cups of flour
Two eggs
Two tablespoons of yogurt
Two tablespoons of vinegar
One teaspoon of mahaleb
Half teacup of olive oil
125 g of butter
Half a pack of baking powder
One teaspoon of salt
For the topping:
Black Seed
Sesame
Preparation:
We pour the flour into the mixing bowl. We open the middle and put butter (at room temperature), olive oil, yoghurt and vinegar in. We separate the yolk of one egg to rub it on. As we have shown in this video, we pour mahaleb and baking powder in and slowly start mixing from the middle. We obtain a dough soft as an earlobe. After kneading for 1-2 minutes, we divide it into 20 equal parts. Then we roll the dough until it is thin and long and stick its two ends together as shown in the video. We take it on a baking tray lined with baking paper, we spread the egg yolk mixed with a spoonful of oil over the dough, then we sprinkle some black seeds and sesame on.
