Usucha (or 'thin tea'), known for its vibrant green colour and creamy texture, is the most common way to drink matcha. While it may look sophisticated, its actually very easy to make!
Step 1: Heat your water.
Step 2: Preheat your bowl and whisk by pouring hot water into your bowl and let the whisk's prongs soak to soften them.
Step 3: Empty the bowl and wipe it dry.
Step 4: Sift 2 grams of matcha into your bowl.
Step 5: Add about 70ml (2.4oz) of 80°C (176°F) water.
Step 6: Whisk Away! Use a back and forth motion, keeping the whisk low in the bowl at first, then slowly raising it as foam starts to form.
Step 7: Enjoy your usucha!
