This vlog/lesson is a treat to me (Marc), and possibly an eye-opener for you.
In this rather long lesson (25min), I'll show you how to:
• Simplify the way you think about chords
• Establish two "guide tone" notes for each chord
• Comp using the guide-tones
• Build lines that effectively MAKE THE CHANGES over any / all jazz chord progressions.
Being able to see, hear and play the 3rd and 7th of each and every chord (especially using the middle strings of the guitar, strings D and G) is crucial in developing your jazz language.
If you're stuck and wondering how and why jazz musicians are able to "make the changes" so effortlessly during soloing, comping and chord melody, then that's the lesson you've been looking for! :)
