This is so cool! Seems like you could get the coolest colors based on the flowers you use.

My favorite is Dandelion Jelly! 💛 I always loved picking dandelions when I was little and my mom put that to good use and ended up making dandelion jelly almost every year!

I do it with violets, rose pedals and elder flower. I tried it once with lilac: it got a nice color but I threw it away because of the unpleasant taste. Heather flower is also okay. Using apple juice or white wine as the base insteat of the water gives an extra kick. Elder flower with a orange juice base is also yummy.

These are wild violets and yes, you can make jelly from roses. It’s pretty much the same process

yes you can make it from roses, though rose pedals can taste fairly differently depending on the variety. Yellow once can have a citic note while some reds a bitter one. Try to taste the pedals before, which one you like.

Pro tip: let the violets sit in wodka with a bit lime juice and sugar for a week. makes a nice shot.

That was still soup when you put it on that bread, and you didn't let the crumb set up! Time is an essential ingredient for good food, and enjoying it

The jelly on the bread was what didn’t fit in the canning jars so the gel hadn’t set yet. Still tasted delicious though 🤷🏼♀️😛
