I just want to be able to change the project tempo without it changing the duration of my tracks. I'm trying to find and match the tempo of an imported song, without having to keep adjusting the audio file. Why isn't there a "lock audio" button? There's supposedly a lock SMTP button, but it has no effect on audio tracks.

Thanks for this video. This helped me to map the Temp of a Complicated Tamil Song by one and only A.R. Rahman.

Trying to follow along, but what's confusing at the beginning is that the temp of you counting out the bars seems arbitrary. How do you do this accurately? I could do the same things but my count be slower or faster.

Interesting. Logic is powerful is some aspects but Ableton and FL do this way easier. I have Logic but wonder why it has more unnecessary obstacles when it comes to simple things like ghost notes or sample time stretch or pitch correction. If anyone could help on an efficient way to do this or send a link will be much appreciated. Cheers

Mickey Davenport Hi Mickey. Those things are easy in Logic too. Have you tried the alt-drag method of time stretching in Logic? Also, have you tried Flex pitch for pitch correction? Perhaps you should join our Facebook Group. Would you be interested?

hiya Chris, many thanks - I have now had some success doing this on a single acapella track. But I cannot get it to work where I have an existing four track acapella. Whatever I do I end up with the first track being resized but not the others - can you please help? Also the tempo interface has changed a bit since you did this (currently 10.5) because are now auto tempo settings that I don't quite understand. Sue x

Can you find the tempo when you don't have instruments in the vocals too ?
@unlockyoursound

Yep. As long as you can tap along to the beat. Hope that makes sense

i dont understand.. shouldnt have this been done with just vocals? Isnt that an acapella? Maybe separate vocals and a separate instrumental match? I guess I could figure it out with this example

I'm trying to record an instrument track over an audio track. Its all organic instruments so theres a slight tempo increase throughout the song. My problem is I just can't physically play the part I need to fast enough. Is there a way to slow the song down to record and then speed the track back up to its original speed?
@MonsieurVersatile

Yep, use the Varispeed function if it's audio. Cheers

You edited only the first 8 bars of the a capella-file. Does it mean that only those 8 bars of the complete original audio file are adapted? What about the rest of the original file? Has it been adapted as well? Thx for the reply.

I'd invest in Logic for about 2 hundred US. If you're interested in producing this has everything you need. **Just a side note Grimes and T.Pain made their first albums on Garage Band so it's possible but I bet they eventually upgraded ;)
