Raise your deck height 1/4" inch to keep from scalping if your on a soggy property and have no choice but mow. I like that you said blow the due off. I do this everyday at my first property. We can get started at 7:30 in some places here. Also if you leave tire lines and your customer doesn't want that you can spend a little extra time with a blower and straighten them up. No matter what, when mowing a wet property use the most powerful blower you have and make sure everything is clean and crispy when finished. Wet grass will get stuck to vehicles, concrete, and pavement.

I've found that the round trimmer line works better for me than the twisted. Great tips on mowing wet grass, I got half of my yard yesterday but it's raining this morning so I might have to wait until tomorrow to finish. I can definitely say that using a blower on dew covered grass works!👍🇺🇸

Nice advice on cutting the lawn when it is wet. I would never use a stick trimmer when the lawn is wet because it will cause mud and more of a mess. Have a good night 💨💨💨

I like mowing when the grass is wet or has morning dew on it, it's dry and dusty where I'm at and there's sand, keeps the dust and sand down saving my blade sharpness, my lawn looks great 👍

When lawns are wet I use the walk behinds with no velkes. String trim large areas that will rut the lawn especially where you turn around. Double cut only if you can and try to avoid going the same direction to avoid ruts. Finally, get the blower out and spread clippings so all clumps disappear. Been doing it like this for 15 years and mow alot of lawns with irrigation.

If you get the “brown tire marks” from some surface water (not rutting) immediately when finished with the property use a blower and go the opposite way the grass blades are laid down and the brown surface water discoloration on the grass should come off enough to pass. If a person stripes normally, pass on it just this once and mow circular discharging inward. After completing the property, take blower and fan out the clippings. When dry, couple days later or next service visit (if weekly) come back and slick it up. It worked for me and I had 6” long clippings.

I notice when blowing is done at my lawn , I have to tell them to take a second and blow off the windshield & hood that blowing creates when blowing drive debris. That helps much !!

I have been having this issue at a new property I took in but their yard is just weeds for the most part. I ended up having to hose off their side walk. I know that it isn’t a nice subdivision and customer may have not cared but I couldn’t leave it looking like that. So next service I did the outside by the road in front of sidewalk with my push mower and it stopped the excess clippings and no more tire tracks

Got rained out today here in Jacksonville Florida, so gonna have some soggy ones too, another day in paradise, haven't any tips but was certainly taking notes, if I ever get a vacation cutting grass here I wanna come run sticks for you on the real. @@Bladesofgrasslawncare true but I have seen to many lawn guy kill the grass after cutting wet grass. That's one the biggest problem of cutting wet grass. Is you can damage the soiled, grass and the mower. But it is possible on how wet the grass is. I just don't. I wait until the next day.

@Scorch earth mf Each property is different. Each customer is different. Know your properties and customers. Professionals who don't mow wet grass end up broke in my area. Mowing wet grass doesn't kill it. Johnny is outlining different techniques to handle this issue. Grass is going to be damp in the morning most days. Conditions are seldom "perfect mowing" weather. The operators have to adapt.

@@davidredmon3352 never said he did I said have seen some lawn guys kill grass. And yes you can kill wet grass if cut incorrectly. Have work in every area of the lawn care business for 25 plus years, selling lawn mower, lawn products, have fix lawn for true green, Scott s rep ,and thousands of hours of training on every type of lawn and repairing it. And my. Friend you can definitely kill mowing wet grass. This why they highly don't recommend cutting it wet.
