Just to add to my previous comment: There are numerous tutorials on this around. most of them skip over important steps for the sake of making the video short. This is the ONLY thorough one that addresses different options and some pitfalls. Thank you for taking the time!!

I’m not even half way through this video and you’ve already done a better job of answering questions I’ve had for the past 4 months than any other tutorial I’ve found. I’ve been slowly teaching myself the basics of 3D modeling specifically for the purpose of cleaning up photogrammetry scans, and while I don’t regret doing it for better understanding, I haven’t found a single other source that simply walks someone through this process in layman’s terms. You’ve made my day, thank you.

Maybe because I've watched similar vids maybe 20 times, but this was the video.. this was the one where it clicked into long term memory. I just bought a stock hi-res human model, and got it from what was basically a photo scan into useable mesh with new maps etc. So, thank you!

First off, Thank you for this tutorial! it's very detailed. I don't have everything working the way it works for you but it's a lot of help. That said there is a pitfall that took me a while to note. If you select all (A) for the UV unwrap, Blender will also select the UV's of the hidden High Poly model and mess it up. The fix is to just manually select the Low poly object!

Just a reminder on using Meshroom that at some point in the workflow you can create a bounding box that will limit what the app will process and you can cut out on almost 99% of the background geometry to save you a lot of time when you import it into Blender. I can't remember off the top of my head which node has the bounding box option though.

Ive seen this video many times over - Thank you so much ! Really helped me understand the workflow. I had a similar approach in Zbrush, but blender offers much more control.

Really clear and well made. It is frustrating though, that your owl is a pretty much perfect, unproblematic scan. It would have been more helpful to see how you deal with the problems that the Merecats you cropped at the start would have presented you with. My scan is much more messy- like those, and thus made this tutorial really hard to follow.

Hello! I'm facing a challenge when using the Quadriflow Remesh modifier in Blender and would like to ask for your help. Here is a detailed description of my issue: I'm trying to apply the Quadriflow Remesh modifier to an object, with "Preserve Sharp" and "Preserve Mesh Boundary" options selected. I set the number of faces to 12,000 in the "Faces" mode. However, whenever the process reaches about 50% completion, Blender automatically shuts down without any error message or warning. 18:45 I have tried checking and adjusting system settings to ensure they meet the recommended requirements for efficient use of Blender, including updating drivers and monitoring system resources during the process. Despite these efforts, the problem persists. I wonder if anyone has experienced a similar issue or has suggestions on how I can resolve this matter. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
