Intel and Asus spoke at an event in China (via Videocardz) about the new microcode update, of which a beta version now exists for Asus motherboards. The event was about current processors as well as future developments such as Arrow Lake. According to Intel, there should be no reduction in clock frequencies or boost behavior for Raptor Lake CPUs; the update simply prevents dangerously high voltages. The overclocking of the processors should also remain unaffected by the update; all settings that were previously available are still accessible - and, according to Intel, were not the reason for the defective CPUs.

Do you think your 14600k is a golden sample? 5.6ghz at 1.2V seems crazy! I'm curious to know cause if most chips can hit that frequency at that voltage, I may purchase one.

Hi there! No it will be fine. Ironically, lowering the voltage as we did in this video will actually have prevented the voltage spikes most likely as we applied a much lower fixed voltage. But the microcode update will simply limit the stock speed settings. This overclock should be fine to continue using after that update.

New update. All the crashing was caused by the wattage settings on the motherboard. Its sett on unlimited. You have to limit it manually. Then everything will be stable.
