In this video I talk about ways to process Stevia, and show you step-by-step how to turn #stevia into dried leaves and a powder sweetener! Stevia can be sold as fresh or dried leaves, as a powder, and as an extract. And of course, it can also be enjoyed personally and is a joy to add to the garden.
I'll show you how to do the first two with my recent harvest of stevia, grown in my indoor microgreen and aeroponic tower farm. I'm still learning how to grow it well, and will be re-doing my last video about how.
Please let me know if this video helped you, or any other questions!

Stevia is a natural sweetener that has gained popularity as a sugar substitute due to its sweet taste without many calories. Processing stevia involves drying the plant, grinding it, and in to a greater degree, extracting and purifying the sweet compounds from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant. This video won't show how to turn it into a liquid or colorless (white) extract!
Stevia plants are typically harvested once they reach maturity, which is usually around 90 to 120 days after planting. The leaves contain the sweet compounds, primarily steviol glycosides. After harvesting, the leaves are dried to reduce moisture content. This can be done through air drying or mechanical drying methods. Then it's a matter of grinding, and sifting the final powder for use as a natural sweetener! I hope this video has helped you!
