I just discovered my folks have an actual MON-STERA growing up a tree. Thing is an actual monster, it has a 2-3" thick twisting trunk going up the tree (oak). There are internodes in the chunky branch about every 1". Its insane. I was super excited to find it while cutting back some selloum and other overgrowth.

And the arial roots will gouge into your drywall overnight 😂. I’ve got all kinds of little dug outs from them so they all got the clips! My husband liked it as then they weren’t combing his hair when he walked by the stairs. Mine until yesterday was huge but Herkamer got a huge haircut so today I’m gonna clip him into pieces and stick in water for my girls. They are the coolest plants ever!

I have taken a few cuttings, should I just cut that one down as the stem is not thick enough to hold the weight of the leaves, and I'm worried where there is a split in the stem that it might die off, I put a plaster on it, it was the only thing I could think of but I think it is still leaking sap and there are one or two more leaves with nodes. I have a climbing monstera. It literally takes up 3 walls of growth. When I received it was big but not that big. I have cut so many times from it and shared. It has never been sick. No bugs. I would however like to propagate from it and add to it. I do leave the airroots on. Some have died off and I will cut them off. I am a bit concerned if I put more into the pot it may choke it out. It is a huge pot. Just not sure what to do with it anymore. Also I was given another monstera that sadly has the black gnats, have the bug sticky strips.. and have been using a 3 H²O to 1 H²0² it has cut them back alot. But I need to scrape the top soil off. (Is orchid organic soil, mixed with other mixtures best). I have noticed in the past that it seems to attract these pesky bugs, stop using it Years Ago. Never had issues with bugs since then. What is your advice? And thank you. Sorry for the rant- The plant given to me w/bugs, was a save from the garbage can. Lol, family was tired if trying to save it. So rescued it.
