I dropped roughly 17 seconds on my 500 the first time I wore a tech suit. I was entered at a 5:40.73 and finished at 5:23.33. It was a great race.

5:59 Amen! My first time with a tech suit I missed my call up because it took me too long to put it on! But then again they told me that if you wear it for too long before getting in the water you’re either gonna damage the tech suit or numb your legs because of the compression. So I guess you should work out the perfect time to go and put it on? Like give yourself time but don’t go too soon?

i have just purchased my first tech suit. When i saw the package i believed they sent a kid's suit by mistake. The first test was hard (hips hell !) but thanks to your tips i pass it. The second attempt was successful in 5 minutes only (oh guys i shave my legs). I dropped 15 seconds on my 1500m, reduced my swolf. The gain is obvious however dont expect to remove it / wear it again during a day competition if it is not fully dry. you need more than 1 piece ..

How do you handle the suit if you have more than 3 or even 4 hours between a race and another?? Do you take them off or do you keep them?
@xrqman7730

Did u figure it out yet?
@pinguinoequatoriale

@@xrqman7730 yah I did. I basically just take them off in these cases, the suit dries quite fast. The problem is more prevalent when you have about 1h/1h and a half between races. In those cases if you have another suit, nice. If not well then, I guess you either choose which event is more important or just keep it. I personally would choose in those cases!

THE BIG QUESTION! How much time do you drop in a 50 free with a tech suit? (approximately)
@fksebati
5 жыл бұрын
Good question. This depends on the person's body type, the event, the fit of the suit and of course the mental element. All put together it's reasonable to say a tech suit like this (jammer - male) could drop a couple tenths of a second over 50m of swimming. This could be even more for a female. The older model of tech suits that cover the full body and are made of polyurethane could drop up to half a second per 50 meters.

in my experience, it drops around a full second. i did 23.47 lcm and im not sure id be able to be 24.4 wearing briefs, cause the higher drag will wear me out, not only because of the kind of fabric of the tech suit, but specialy cause if its a good one, it would keep your hips higher in the water. so, at least in my case, it saves a huge amount of energy and you will feel the difference specialy in the end of the race

How do you take care of it if you have multiple race that are 2 hours in between each race
@fksebati
4 жыл бұрын
Great question! I advise you keep the suit on and dry off completely (to the best you can) between races. If you have a drag suit to wear over the tech suit in a warmup before your second race, that's a good idea. Ideally you enter the water with the tech suit completely dry for the race.

It mostly depends on the suit brand. Some companies are true to size, others need to go down. I recommend reading the sizing chart and read reviews about the suit/sizing.

When you get a tech should it be one size bigger or smaller because I am size 30 in practice suit but I don’t know if I should get 28 or 32 or stay the same in tech and practice suits
@fksebati
4 жыл бұрын
That's a great question and it really depends on the brand of the suit. They all size differently. Some you'll need to go smaller and some will be the same as a training suit. Each brand will have a sizing chart on their website and you can read reviews to see how true to size they are. There is no one answer to this because there can be a dramatic difference between companies. For example I'm a 26 in one brand and a 30 in another. I personally feel that if you're within one size of the 'perfect' fit, you'll be in good shape. The closer you can get to your true size for that brand, the better off it will fit and last. Swim fast!!

Generally you get a tech suit much smaller than your practice suit for maximum compression for example, I wear a size 28 practice suit and wear a 25/26 racing suit but I know some guys who wear a 28 practice and even go down to a 23/24 it really depends on your preference but you should’ve never get a larger size than your practice suit.
