Thank you for the informative video. I've never had Hominy Corn and I'm 60 years old. It's now on my list of things to taste in 2021. New year new things!

I buy the #10 can as well. I've never canned it before, so I will have to try that. I usually freeze 2 cups worth in zip lock bags. I just pull one out and throw in either tortilla soup or pozole. Yum!!! I'm so sorry about the loss of your fur baby.

Ms. Fanny, my heart goes out to you for the loss of another precious pet, and also for your tummy troubles. You were missed. Oh YES, we need a meat times video. When you did your deviled chicken video, I danced a lil jig when you said 50 minutes processing time for half-pints. Had been looking for this information forever as I don't like over-processed food, either. Love, love, LOVE hominy and made some twice using pickling lime, years apart. Gonna do another batch as a few cobs of 8-row corn is prolly too old to sprout by now. Hominy from scratch is a lotta work. You are a wealth of information and I love your style of presentation. Please keep up the good work and do know your efforts are much appreciated.

Thank you so much Joy , with the loss of Precious , then Tippy , and 2 of my fosters off to Canada , it's very quiet and different around here . Precious was my world , never left my side . She kept the house in check . I have a lil foster now I may keep , she is soo tiny . Hominy was new to me , hubby likes it , That big ol can would have been a waste so canning it is lol . Thank you for all the support , it is greatly appreciated . Take care

They will get softer , but heat them up fill jars and wb 20 min pints . You may need to make more syrup or you can add water . Hot peaches into hot jars

How long do you cook half pints
@FannyUrbanhomesteader

I do 1/2 pints for 50 min. Some say you have to do them the same as pints

I accidentally ordered 2 giant cans like this. My eyes popped when I saw them. 😂 This vid is perfect timing. And I throw a can of hominy and a can of Ro-Tel tomatoes in a pan for a quick side. Sinatra vs. Quiet Riot-priceless! 😂 Sorry for your sadness. I hope the sun comes out for you soon. ❤️

Yup this was a boo boo buy . I wondered when I realized 120 ozs sounded like an awful lot lol . Thank you so much for the kind thoughts . We do miss the fur babies . With the world in such a state atm , it kinda took me out losing my lil chihuahua . Thank you so much for watching :)

The flavor is like corn tortillas . It's a corn , but not what you are used too . More like masa
