This is a little process I use to remove carbon build-up on engines. It only takes about an hour per side and is very simple to do.
Removing carbon on pistons and the tops of cylinder walls prevents future hot spot issues and will improve your engine performance.
This is basically what is done when someone does a refresh versus a rebuild - meaning keep the pistons and crank where they are, clean up all the surfaces like new, and replace other wear parts for performance - such as the cam and lifters.
Since I am doing a Displacement on Demand delete, much of the engine it taken apart, so while I'm in there you may as well make things cleaned a proper.
Hope you enjoy this little tutorial on this L76 engine refresh!
