Holy bat wings Robin! This did it! I have disassembled mine completely, cleaned with denatured alcohol, reassembled, bought new springs, stood on my head, held my tongue just right and it kept jamming up even with the driest of tobacco and leaving gaps at both ends. THIS WORKED! THANK YOU!

Haha So glad it worked for you too! I was getting ready to buy a new machine when I finally figured out what the problem was. Saved me $$ with an easy fix. And my sanity too.I probably got another years use out of that machine..

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I have 2 top-o-matic's, and they were both getting stuck halfway through the crank. The first one I bought started doing it immediately, and the second one started doing it a couple months after buying it. THIS FIXED BOTH OF THEM!! They roll better than they ever have and this makes life so much easier. Both are the same model and have metal cutters, but it's like they were designed intentionally with this flaw. Makes me wonder...

This problem means that you will need to replace your cutter very soon. The tiny posts on the cutter that the H-bar holds onto is bent, and about to break off. That's why the cutter is operating crooked and jamming the nozzle

I replaced that machine shortly after doing that video with a Mikro-Matic by Top-O-Matic and it works great! Love it! All metal/no plastic. My days of using the Supermatic are over.

Hence... cheaply made and poor quality metal used in it's parts... Stupid to be using a plastic cutter to begin with.. thats just lame as Hell... Hahahahahaha

Your tobacco too dry wont work too wet either. Will fix 95% ,problems.Too dry spray mist, close bag ,too wet lay out in open.Makes big difference.Too much of either will damage mch.

For those that aren't quite ready to buy a new machine, this might help you. ................................. Mine after 5 years of flawless operation was not filling the tubes all the way and i thought my problem was like yours being that the cutter bar looked a bit crooked as you turned the handle looking from under the machine, but that wasn't the problem after all. Finding information wasn't easy so I'll share what helped me, starting with the fill problem.... See the following video: Part 2-4 Disassembly, Reassembly and Adjustment of Premier Supermatic. kzitem.info/news/bejne/xJ-h0YmlrmKcgpw At 8:34 on this video shows where the problem was that caused the tubes not to be filled all the way. The screw he's working on first is the one that was too tight on mine instead of free moving. I watched the entire video and was able to tune mine up. After 5 years of use I needed a new injector spoon and to do that adjustment above, and it's working great again. So a washer and super glue may not be needed.. I'd try the screw adjustment first. The entire set of instructional videos in the right order How to disassemble assemble and adjust topOmatic Part 1 kzitem.info/news/bejne/l2Nm2op-gn2IrHY Part 2 kzitem.info/news/bejne/xJ-h0YmlrmKcgpw Part 3 kzitem.info/news/bejne/zI2el2R9a2uflaA Part 4 kzitem.info/news/bejne/wod8yqp3m2eBg6Q I have the original topomatic but the following tutorial works for it as well. Hope this helps anyone like me who's found very few videos on the subject for some reason. How to Make Cigarettes with Premier Supermatic. kzitem.info/news/bejne/pG-Ky6ygkpx8mqA kzitem.info/news/bejne/raGVn5-pm6KdoqA I also couldn't find a place to buy parts at first, then I found one ryoparts.com/ . If anyone knows of others please share,

Topomatic, supermatic, powermatic, etc., they all operate the same under the hood. They all use a H-bar to push the cutter that compresses the tobacco. When the cutters wear out, it's the pins that stretch/crack/break. The cutters used to be made from aluminum which was prone to cracking from fatigue. They updated them to dense plastic which was actually more durable for this purpose, but still wears out and stretches until the pins break. This causes the tobacco to jam in the injector tube. Issues with not filling a cigarette tube all the way on an old machine is usually a stretched spring on the little lever that clamps down on your cigarette tubes. They're 2 separate issues, but I ran into both a few weeks ago. - Supermatic kept jamming all of the sudden. Really bad jamming where I couldn't move the handle. Cig tubes weren't even getting filled 1/4th the way. Tobacco was just jamming real right in the nozzle. Had to poke it all back into the chamber and it was really packed tight. - Noticed that the cutter looked crooked. I tried the washer trick but it was still crooked enough to jam the machine. - Disassembled the machine to remove the cutter and found one of the pins was cracked off. - Checked the ryoparts site for a replacement and it's like $15 after shipping...ouch...and it's shipping from across the country...ouch..I need smokes 'yo! - Checked ebay...Chinese clone topomatic with seller in my state for $20 shipped. done deal. - Got it 2 days later and before I removed the cutter to use in my supermatic, I figured I'd at least test it out. First impression is it's junk! Couldn't fill cigs in any size all the way to the filter. Cigs were horrible! - Swapped springs and now the Chinese clone makes perfect cigs! The machine itself is mechanically identical except rough on ALL edges. Even the nipple has an annoying lip on it that needs to be sanded down. Other than that it's easily worth $20 as long as you replace the 1 spring. - I will be taking the cutter to use in my supermatic because I already have a giant hopper for it. Otherwise, I would polish up the clone with some sandpaper and keep using it.

That reminds me, when mine started not filling all the way the first thing I did was replace the spring, got one of the same size but stronger than the original at Ace hardware. Sadly that didn't fix it. Next was to replace the injector spoon which was quite worn and part of the problem but.. That didn't fix the filling issue. Then I came across the links I posted originally and found my issue. It as not the spring but the part it was attached to. If it was not for that video I would have never suspected that part. I also didn't know it could be adjusted.. Of course a stretched spring could have been part of it. I examined the cutter, looks as new as when I brought it 5 years ago but then I am not rough with it. I like the tobacco very loose, so I don't pack it very much. Not being and expert I certainly appreciated the well done video tutorials that took a while to find on youtube. The tubes are filling to the top now, but nor I have issues with it tearing the end of the tube, those videos showed how to resolve that too, but since I burn off that much before I take my first puff I can deal with that, till I get around to adjusting that part. Thanks for your reply and added information.
