Dan- I wanted to take a moment to give you some (much deserved) praise. The very first video I ever stumbled across of yours, I clicked the “subscribe” and the “like” button within the first 30 seconds. Since that day, I’ve continued to devour your content. You are such a unique man, in the best way possible. Listening to you discuss something that you are passionate about is mesmerizing. You hit that perfect spot in the psyche where you motivate and embarrass me all at once due to your ability to be able to articulate your thoughts clearly enough to truly educate the listener, yet never bullshit us or sugarcoat things. Your channel is certainly unlike most other channels (no shade to any creators. Y’all know what I mean though!). You are an inspiration and I can see BIG things in your future! I look forward to witnessing all of the great things you will create! Sorry so long! I hope you get to see this and I hope you take this to heart because you are changing the lives of so many and this is just the very beginning of your story! Thank you for CONTINUING to be you, give it to us honestly without the fluff, and for taking the time to create QUALITY content that people can get so much value out of. ❤

This was so helpful!! Going to listen again immediately. It was an honor to take your Solopreneur sprint class recently. Out of all the people on social media, trying to make money by telling the world how to improve, two of the most profound reasons that Dan is set apart, are; #1- he is authentically on this path himself, and sharing his journey and progress with us. #2- he isn’t just echoing information. He is outlining simple strategies that allow people to implement the information and take action towards their goals immediately. And I really feel that strategy is the bridge between having access to all the information in the world, and knowing what to do with it, and where to start. I like to listen to Dan’s videos at least two or three times to let everything sink in.

"I don't really understand what they're saying, but I know that it means something." Well, yall. I didn't come on here to talk crap, but this is probably the most important takeaway in the video. This is the insight and confirmation I needed. Many young people don't actually LISTEN to what these people are saying, but because they can package it in a cool, compelling way, people will force themselves to believe it. Not because it follows their truth but because they want to be more like the person saying it.

As a society we’ve lost the value of intelligence. I guess there was always different classes of folks- those who valued and believed in their ability to grow in intelligence and those who are content where they are at or doubt they can grow mentally. We really need a strong mind in todays times due to all of the distractions. I have only myself to blame for failing to develop my mind appropriately. But fear of expression due to rejection and negative perception held me back for years. Thank you for your work Dan!

I love your message and the whole concept behind it, yet I feel like I would be just another dude, repeating the same ideas as so many other creators. Nowadays everyone is copying everyone on YT. Then they all sell courses on how to monetize those ideas or skills. And there is no way for me as a consumer to gauge how good that product will actually be, how much it will actually teach me besides the same old "starts" that everyone is talking about. Most of it is just fluff and stuff you can find for free. Is that really a future-proof strategy that can't be replaced by AI? I imagine, just like on Twitch or other platforms, the top 1% will be able to make a living from it and the rest won't. I wonder if there is any official data on how many KZitemrs besides the big names can actually live off of this. In 5 years time there will be so many courses...

From what I have gathered about this individual, it appears that he expresses himself through his carefully chosen words. Many of his thoughts and concepts appear to be borrowed from the psychological lectures of Dr. Jordan Peterson or Robert Greene, yet he masterfully incorporates his own unique ideas and phrasing. It's intriguing to observe the parallels between the Art of Seduction, the Art of War, and now the Art of Focus. Undoubtedly, he is an intelligent individual.

I have never been more hyped about a book! My lack of focus and consistency are on an another level. It cripples me to a point where I break my own heart every time I find myself not able to push through all the distractions around me. I have so much desire to achieve the goals I worked 8 years to consciously set for myself, breaking free from some heavy predispositions of limited mindset, not just from family, but the whole damn country at that time, I was born in - unstable politically and economically, run by the mafia openly for more than a decade, scarcity of everything, poverty... Such environment takes a toll on a child's mindset. Seeking stability and security is still engrained in my mind. But I worked really hard to change how my mind works. And I did it, now I believe it is up to me to find out what will bring me joy and create that life through learning the right skills and apply over time. Lack of focus is my greatest set back.
@MikeGowans
Жыл бұрын
You know, as I read your story, I can’t not think about how I understand having a lack of focus. Especially with those distractions that are literally everywhere. But if I were to go back to my past self when I was less focused and more distracted, here’s what I’d say to myself. Instead of trying to focus better, what if he just identified everything that was the opposite of focus. In other words, distraction. Distractions are a lot easier to find. And once you identify all of them and just remove them, then you have no choice but to be left with focus by default. I think Charlie Munger refers to this as inversion thinking. Dan‘s content is some of the best information I’ve ever experienced and he’s a real dude and one of the great ones. I just thought I’d share that focus thing with you cause sometimes it’s easier to remove things to fix the problem.

Excellent talk - one critique / pet peeve: “High Level” means a simplified version, not the technical stuff. Think of it like this - when you have a high-level discussion about a subject, imagine you’re painting a picture of the subject from a very … high level (altitude!) … things are blurry.. details can’t really be made out… but you can see the whole picture. What you might’ve meant is “working level”- as in, discussed by those who work closely with the subject. Incredible talk you gave, again.
