You are by far my favorite microgreens guy. You have such a good way of explaining everything with a good sense of humor.

The OCD in me thanks you because so many people deal with this. Then they use hydrogen peroxide to kill the mold (food grade). Little do they know that bacteria is everywhere. So something small like putting the tray on a countertop can make a big difference. Great video! 👍🏼 In order to deactivate bleach one needs hot water. So if its used, use hot water to remove the strong scent.

I am on the same page with you!! I was literally going to wrap some tape around the hydrogen peroxide, and in a few seconds, you said what I was thinking.

Love your channel!! I hope the next bootstrap tray upgrade includes slightly rounded inside corners so there wouldn't be a sharp corner to have to dig into to clean. Thank you for all your great videos!! :)

I just found you, and absolutely love your clearly spoken sharing of info. I’m just about to attempt growing for personal use. I’m Leary though because of mold and getting sick from consuming greens that may have bacterias. May I ask you to please do a video showing how to sanitize trays and equipment using the peroxide. I’m such a visual learner. Thank you for sharing your work with us.

Question: should you wear rubber gloves when working with your greens? I’ve noticed you work bare handed. Complete newbie here. Thanks

Would it make more sense to use regular hydrogen peroxide just for sanitizing? And then reserve the food grade one for mould on the microgreens?

I unfortunately am going to have to get my water to fill and rinse trays from a bathroom - next closest is down two flights of stairs My only thought is to get bleach wipes or thymol wipes to wipe whole sink area prior to going in with micro trays? Anyone have any other thoughts? What are you spraying on your stainless table to sanitize the peroxide? You did not say in video

Do you or have you had any issues with fungus gnats? I was told that they are a moist environment thing and not so much a sanitizing thing. Thanks for all of the helpful videos.

I was wondering why some of my seeds when in germination are sticking to the tray that is on top of the germinating seeds..
@PrincetonMicrogreens

I guess the bigger question might be, are you lifting the trays during germination? 😉 You shouldn't need to touch the trays until at least day 3 for pretty much all microgreens. At this point germination is over and done with and ready to be introduced into blackout.

Can I mix a ratio of hydrogen peroxide and vinegar together? If so, what ratio would you recommend per Gallon?

@@PrincetonMicrogreens You read my mind because that was actually my first thought lol but I've actually tried it and it seems to work which is why I was asking. I am not exactly sure if I should continue using that method or if I should just follow your recommendations instead. Any thoughts?
@pronnes

@@coastaldirect It's perfectly fine to use a mix of H2O2 and vinegar. Recommend H2O2 3% and white vinegar 5% at the same rate, as long as you just use it to clean your trays and stuff. We're using each 30ml per 1 liter of water (each 1 ounce per 32 ounces of water).
