Hi, Man Time. IF my memory serves me rightly, the first 3 inches of movement on the steering pedals should release the steering clutches with a definite change of pressure at that 3" point. The rest of the pedal travel applies the steering brake on that side. I think the correct adjustment is to back the adjusters off 2 1/2 turns from tight. I would suggest that your hose fittings, or at least the ones that I could see, are Caterpillar re-usable fittings which require a special press to get them off and re-install them. Most good hydraulic service shops would likely have one. IF I am right, the collar presses off to reveal a bunch of fingers underneath. You then pry those fingers open to release the old hose and slide the new one in. You then press the collar back into place to clamp the fingers into the hose. Just my 0.02. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

I did check the manual and the adjustment through the rear panels is the clutch throw adjustment. The less you back off (left) the less throw is required. As this machine is so old I’m sure the brakes are worn. And there is additional slop in the linkage. What I did in the video for adjustment did work and the info is accurate. I appreciate your comment👍

@@Man-Time Hey, I loved the video! Can you tell my, if my clutches are not disengaging, then I would adjust them by tightening all the way down, and then backing off 2 1/2 turns? Right now I press my steering pedals, and the tracks don't stop turning...

Thank you for the video. I have a 1974 741B not sure what the B means. Are the hose ends on your machine reusable ? Do you know a good supplier of of aftermarket parts ? Had a hose bust on the tilt cylinder. Have you had to rebuild the track tension cylinder, your track are nice and tight. thanks Mark

Hi Mark. I don’t think the ends on the hoses are reusable. Through Cat they have some aftermarket parts available. Like their brand and a lower price option. I’ve had issues with the lower priced stuff (made overseas). And no my track tension cylinders remain good and I haven’t rebuilt them. Thanks for the feedback!

My 941b, want move, what do you think I can check to see why it's not engaging in forward or backwards, no movement at all, it just jerk, or act like it wants to, it's like it's in natural, any ideas would be appreciated, thanks for the videos

I had to flush the cases several times and change filters several times before mine moved. Filled and flushed with diesel even ran with a can of sea foam in the oil for a while. Mine came around luckily. Do that for every case is what worked for mine

Sounds like it’s transmission or fluid related. May just be a clogged filter. I’d start with all the filters and drain/flush the tanks. If that doesn’t do it you may have a big project ahead of you

This system is totally wrong. The brakes do not register in this way.

@@Man-Time I understand you. but the levers are not cut to adjust the brakes. If you change your brakes completely one day, you will also need to replace that threaded rod. it takes a few minutes to adjust the brakes. you do so : kzitem.info/news/bejne/mnqvy36npZyjhKw

I’ll have to politely disagree with you there. If you open up the floor you’ll see the brake and clutch levers are separate inputs on the case. You can adjust the clutch through the rear panels but not the brakes

@@Man-Time Hello www.justanswer.com/heavy-equipment/2x7sp-adsjust-steering-clutches-941-traxcavator.html My friend, if you have a very worn brake band, just turn the nut number 1, 2/3 turns. I've never seen a rod cut. It was enough to turn the rear bolt without cutting the rod.

I see your point but it says you are adjusting the rod length for brakes and want to stay at 2.5 turns out on the rear bolt. That’s how the manual describes it also. The rear access bolts set the relation and you set the brake rods to leave those set at 2.5 out. That’s what I did in my video
