The siphon I got came with a suction bulb that seemed to do nothing. So I left that part off and followed this method - worked perfectly. Thank you.

Took a fat couple tries but after a half hour I nailed it. Im using this for a turtle tank with a lower water level so I think that prolly has something to do with it. Anyways I was finally able to clean the tank, thank you.

I love this! I will definitely try this. I bought a hand held siphon with hand pump but for some reason no water gets in tube when I submerge it under water.y tank is higher up off the ground and the bucket on bottom. I didn't have that trouble with my smaller siphon, but when I bought the bigger tube one, it had issue with fulling up water in tube, it just floats when I submerge it. I will try this method and see what happens

Pretty groovy - very simple physics, but you've got a nice vacuum that's clearly pulling out the dirty water - which is contained in that compartment - powered by gravity! I love it. You could do this off grid.

It worked!! But i need a smaller one. AND i need to figure out how to put LIGHT down into my fishtank so i can see. THE light that comes with it is IN The damn way!! Also it stirs up a lot of debris too but that part probably takes talent to learn how to not knock around too much debris.
