hey coach chris thank you for showing us how to slide.. however are you able to slide on all surface or just on some slick hardcourts? the reason i am asking is that it seems like you can slide your feet even on the spot without running.. all the hardcourts i have been to in my area have some kind of sandpaper surface to the point where i cannot even slide on one foot (on the spot).. any tips on how to slide on rough hardcourt surfaces? or you shouldn't slide on these kinds of surfaces? thank you

I really like your channel, you offer a lot good information about all kinds of topics in the tennis world. I am curious about your production team, your videos are very well put together. If you mind sharing a bit about the nuts and bolts. Who shoots your videos, who does the editing all that cool stuff behind the camera. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work. I do this intuitively when I'm in deep juju, I wouldn't say I tried to copy anyone, it just happens. I don't try to hit the ball with the intent to slide, it comes naturally. Is there a risk I might roll on my ankle, of course the risk is there.

1. Sliding on hardcourts is a defensive reaction. Don’t do it for aesthetics - you’ll probably get injured! 2. Don’t do it on newer hardcourts.

Video could as been more detailed and instructive with slow motion and step by step cut fotos but still good to see a video on the topic as its not covered enough If all the courts were Clay than the shoes would last nearly forever. As for 'marble' sliding the easiest way is just to practice in shopping centres

Well the number one tennis player in the world was sliding on a wooden wax surface I saw some practicing on wax floors wooden indoors the ball was traveling about 300 times faster than I've ever seen it before after practicing on wood wax floors sliding the guy could easily beat anyone in the world this is the story of the number one test for in the world and how it became

It's not even easy to slide on clay. You have to be going pretty fast to do that; it's just that you have to be insanely fast and fit to do it on hardcourt. Chris is right, a wood floor and socks is aa good start and then super worn out soles on a smooth garage floor is about all most middle age or higher players can handle (regardless of NTRP level).
@RoyCosioVegantennis

It is super easy if you grew up playing tennis since 4yrs old on clay I do it like breathing but hard courts ???.... Never!, that is just plain stupid trying to emulate pros that train 8hrs a day in and out of the court......stop watching to much pro tennis and start play to your capabilities and limitations if you want to play everyday and forever

Right the number one inner accents in car wrecks is whiplash a whiplash is the effect of your neck when it snaps back when you slam on the brakes and hit a car in front of you this is a very common energy injury due to the fact that the car stops suddenly it impact and tennis we have the option of sliding which stops the impact point and enables us to not into ourselves even though we're traveling at high speeds also allows us to recover back to the center of the Court wherever that is that's changing all the time there is no true center that's another falsehood if you went back to the center every time you'd be beaten by everyone in the world basically the center of the court is divided diagonally and changes all the time only way to find the centers with a GPS

John McEnroe remains light on his feet, nimble and agile even in his 6th decade. He has arguably the lightest footwork of any tennis player in history. He does not slide outwith clay courts. There is never a need and on hard courts, this is just inviting injuries for recreational players.
