Note the $200K salary is for big law attorneys in markets like NY AND TEXAS. If you guys want a video diving into salary’s for a larger range of attorneys. Like this comment 😊

This is a very enlightening video, I am a law student and I appreciate the information that you are bringing forth to us, the importance of creating a budget is one of the areas I am trying to master now, most of my budget now is not entertainment but more so my student loans and more on student life and life in general.

Can you make a video with tips on how to switch from the public sector /nonprofit to private/ big law? Any tips on how to make my resume and cover letter applicable to private / big law jobs without the direct experience of that type of work?

Thanks for highlighting this. How you spend is important. Dont get caught up in the make more, spend more OR the I'm a lawyer so I should have this expensive things. I'm a fan of nice things but also invest to more than offset the money going out for spending.

Here's what to do: (1) take your $200k salary, (2) find the second-best student in your class, the one that didn't make the cut to biglaw, (3) pay that student $125k to do everything; (4) use all the free time you have to enjoy life!

Why don't you just pay off the student loans since the salary is so high?
@TheAspiringBoss
3 жыл бұрын
I mention that in the video. Refinancing gives you a lower interest rate so you can pay student debt down faster.
@prowler63
Жыл бұрын
@@TheAspiringBoss That makes sense if you don' hae the money now. If you do and can pay it off in lie 1 - 3 years, it may be better just to pay it off then re-financeing (unless your original interest rate is crazy high). Re-financing also cost money (see the fine print. You may actually end up paying more if you are not careful). Also, the interest means you are also paying more then the loan long term in any case. Unless you are great at investing and the return on your investments is greater then the loan interest + refinance cost, you are losing money long term. If you have the money, its usually better to just pay it off.
