Exactly, it’s never too late. I like to remind myself that we are never alone in our struggles, even if it feels that way. We aren’t defined by our struggles, but by our ability to keep trying and picking ourselves up when we fall. Something I just started is a 30 day yoga video series, and it already has helped me have a more positive body-mind relationship. Hope all is well!

0:30 1. Watch your words to stop self-identifying with binge eating habits (ego prevents you from giving up your belief of self-identity) - Use past tense: "I used to ..." instead of "I am ..." - Visualize what the ideal you would do - something realistic that you can consistently keep up 3:10 2. Avoid trigger food when down - Alleviate your state: talk to someone, watch a comedy, make a drink, ... - Enjoy the "trigger food" when you're happy to break the association between feeling down and the food 4:56 3. Separate yourself from your evil twins: strict (military) twin, all-or-nothing (extreme) twin, "encouraging" (to overeat) twin - Listen to your inner dialogue, realize that the twins are not you - Use the word "nourish": will the food nourish me? 6:49 4. Don't "Should" on yourself - you would rebel yourself - Say "could" (option) instead of "should" (demand) 8:02 5. Talk to someone you trust - Talk about emotions, feelings, triggers, what worked before, ...

When I was starting to change my eating habits and trying to stop binging, I found it really useful to delay rather than deny myself junk food. So if I really wanted chocolate, rather than trying to tell myself "no, I can't have that", I'd tell myself "I will have some later". I'd put it off till later in the day or tomorrow, and in the meantime have some water, tea, a piece of fruit. That way you're letting the craving pass and less likely to overeat whatever it is you're craving, but not denying yourself the food entirely and feeling deprived, which just sets you up fo failure. Worked for me, I've lost 16kg and kept them off.

@@ivanovna-mv1ii I understand your situation because I also had that same issue and it did made me binge more and I even accepted and got used to do it many times a day for years. When I started to gain some money, by working, by saving what my parents or anyone gave me, I started to buy my own food which was healthier or at least not as bad as the opstions at home. By doing that I also create a rutine and I learn to organize myself better by preparing my breakfast foe the college. That also help me to become a bit more responsive and one of the big things is that, because I bought my own food I also cooked for myself( there are sooooo many videos of how to cook healthy on youtube, just look for them and you'll fine what best fits you), is that I also encourage my family to eat healthier. My mum started to go to the gym and to eat healthier without being obsessed with what to eat or not, my dad encouraged by my mum also started to go to the gym and reduced the amount of food he used to eat and he's now trying to eat healthier. You can start it, little by little go and discover more about the food out there that you can then cook, you can become even more creative by trying to make your own dishes and that you will know what you are eating and that it is not bad for you, instead it will nourish your body and soul. I would also recommend you to do some exercise it also helps a lot making you feel new, strong and it also boost you to do more and better. I really hope you can get better, you know you're a wonderful person, you know you can do it. I am also in your situation and little by little I am learning more and all I told you I am doing and please trust me, it helps. Also try to look for more information about bulimia, eating disorders, anxiety, triggers, and explain it to your parents. Look for help, you are very strong, becuase it is a daily battle, but you also might need some extra support. You're loved, don't forget that.

Лаурочка I used to struggle with bulimia, and I understand the feelings of never finding a solution. I always got to points in my recovery where I felt controlled around my trigger foods, but never comfortable. The truth was, the root problem was still there - I feared my trigger foods. It’s such a huge mental battle becuz the scars from previous binges are engraved in your mind and u start to believe the nature of your previous distress. I loved the tips in this video, where you should be able to look at cereal and see it as a treat instead of a death trap to an ultimate purge. Also, which isn’t mentioned in the video, is having a stable diet that you like and know is healthy. That way, you can start to lose the sense of guilt u have from “cheating” and eating snacks, since eating healthily optimizes your mind’s natural hunger cues. Before you kno it, you will find urself not seeing cereal as a guilty pleasure, but a treat for whenever u want to feel better than good. I hope this helped:) best of luck!

These are such great tips! Another on that really helps me is to not keep junk foods in the house at all, so when I truly want whatever treat I'm craving I will either make it myself or buy it in a single serving so I don't overdo it but still get to enjoy it :)

So I was anorexic when I was young, gained weight on meds in the past, got off...found a great place for years. All the sudden, I got in a relationship that's toxic and lost a baby, and bam. Binged. Never had overeating issues. 4 years now, I gained 65lbs and cant get it off. I literally never am able to tell why. I paused last night like, "are you really hungry?" Well obviously not but I wanted it. Fucking sucks. I said a prayer and figured...something is triggering me. Emotions/stress and now addiction. So you got to study this shit to heal!!! Good luck everyone. Hard journey. We women are always emotionally sensitive and hit hard sometimes. But we are also strong because of this.❤ shit happens.

This is so sad. I was anorexic when young and lately I have started binge eating for an unknown reason! Then again grief & emotional issues in my marriage could be the cause but I never ever thought I was an emotional/comfort eater. I know how to eat well but just aren’t doing it??! Bizarre how we behave when mixed emotions/triggers are involved. Have you tried doing something alternative is when reaching for binge food? Reading a chapter, writing your own chapter! (which may help with getting your feelings on paper as through telling your story may help with your emotions), go for a walk, make a scrapbook which can be time consuming, phone a friend, do a 10minute workout.......anything to occupy your brain then have a shower or sit with a nice cuppa see if you still want that binge food Most likely you won’t xxx Also keep good foods to hand and don’t buy those naughty foods. I have young children so naughty foods are always in hand. I’m trying to take my own advice & have found reading with a hot drink takes the urge away. Not always but sometimes is enough to know I’ll conquer this. Take care xx

@@Calejandre138 to want to not eat is appalling.i’ve had anorexia in the past & I didn’t even know it at the time! I also worked out 6 days a week. On the seventh day I’d be depressed. I now eat well...treat here & there but not excessively with lots of whole foods to fill me as I am always on the go. I work our only twice a week & if I hit the gym more I fear I’m going back to me old way. Reverse psychology maybe? But I am now in better shape & look better than I did back than. 3 stone heavier & stayed like this for 17 years. What helped me was a food diary. It helped me realise I wasn’t eating enough.and I’d write my mood back then...age 22 but was depressed, feeling guilty because of the pizza I’d eaten, hungry etc etc 4 months ago I was binging (as per my earlier comment) due to personal issues. It took me back to my younger days & the same guilty horrid depressed feelings. The food diary I started again has kept me on track the last 2 months & I feel amazing. I now do a food diary & now eat 3 main meals, 2 decent snacks, 1 treat every single day (Mars bar, slice of tray bake etc) and I always have supper which maybe a smoothie to catch up on lack or fruit/ veg I’ve not had through the day or a bean cereal warmed up yum! I feel satiated & satisfied. Try the diary you’ll feel guilty writing down a bad time so the following meal or following day you’ll make better choices. As for working out you’ll find what’s right for you. I use to be cardio mad...not now I’m busy with my kids so I do strength training & trust me it shapes your body makes you mentally/physically stronger & gives you a good mind set. It also helps to continually burn calories. Good luck & please don’t think that not eating is the answer. 🙃

As someone who has struggled with impulse control in the past (see, trying to not identify with it), I just want to say these tips are so useful for more than just binge eating. These are some helpful mindsets for thinking about any impulses, including social media use and procrastination. For example I 'could' watch another youtube video, OR i could continue to work on my assignment. I know which one will make me feel good now that I have paused and tuned into what I am feeling

I come from an anorexia background in my teenage years, that I thought I had overcame thanks to sports and a healthy diet. I feel quite proud about everything that I went through, but still today I often find myself thinking about food (more than needed), binge eating and losing control on my apetite until my belly hurts. But now that I am becoming a young woman, I really want to solve the problem I have with food and be in peace with myself =) Your advices would probably help a lot, your video feels so genuine and caring. I love how simple everything you say is. Most health/fitness channels tell you you HAVE to eat this or you just won't make it. I live in a country where food is very expensive and scarce and it's always been very hard for me to eat well either due to food insecurity driving me to binge because I don't know when I'll eat a certain thing again or just because all the trendy health foods most channels recommend are too expensive or juts outright unavailable. You give people lots of options to add to their diets and a lot of tips to actually succeed in changing their eating habits. I'm super grateful to have found your content 💖

I loved your suggestion of tuning into my own intuition and inner voice to see what I really think of these foods. There have been times that I genuinely felt I deserved the energy boost of that bag of chips and a general reminder of what is good in this life (:p), so I allowed it without much guilt. But there have certainly been times where I felt so depressed and angry that by binging I was trying to show myself I have given up and the food was almost a punishment for myself, knowing it was unhealthy and not nourishing. Thinking back on it, it's almost a form of self-harming. A cup of tea and some sleep would have been a better choice in that situation.

I realised a few months ago, that I constantly overate - I didn't stop until I felt like I couldn't move and had to take a nap. I recently learned to stop when I am just not hungry anymore and learned, that this is enough. I also was constantly eating - when I saw food I ate it without thinking. I overcome this through intermitted fasting - it made me realise that I just always ate, even when I wasn't even hungry. I've learned to feel hungry again and that this isn't something bad, it's just natural and healthy to be hungry sometimes. I started changing my eating habits 3 months ago and I've already lost 5kg (about 11 pounds) just by that changes.
