Your sense of humor about shape, clothing and age is what sets you apart from other youtube clothing influencers. That, and your ability to be direct with kindness. No excess fabric andanalyzing outfits. Every woman can do this. Good stuff! Break down more outfits in the future, please, from casual to formal! Merci, mon ami.

Thanks to you Marie-Anne my pretty summer dresses that usually hang in the closet, waiting for an ‘occasion’ to be worn, are being worn all the time. I’m not saving my clothes for events anymore! Instead of just wearing a tshirt and my usual casual pants and feeling very dull I’m wearing my dresses and pretty sandals as often as possible, even to run errands. I find I feel better and walk differently, my whole attitude is improved! Thank you! (And when I do put on a tshirt or buttoned shirt I casually add my French knot now. 😊)

HI S.D., I am glad to hear that you are not waiting for life to present events so that you can wear your beautiful outfits. Every day is a celebration of life, so let's look our best everyday! I love dressing up each day and wearing my 3 or 4-inch stiletto heels and dry-cleaned clothes. I feel like a million bucks in my elegant attire, and yes, it makes me smile all day and reach out to others with kindness.

Same! That's what the lockdown time taught me! There were no occasions to dress up anymore so I did it just for me and for fun! Sometimes I just tried different outfits in front of the mirror.

Brilliant perspective! If we arent learning and trying to improve, what are we doing? Thank you for all you do!! I had 2 intelligent and successful buys this weekend. Not a lot, but 2 pieces that raised the bar. I knew who I was and I knew what worked for me, what complimented me!! I avoided all those styles you warned about and you were right! I was on a budget and I celebrated my body. Keep going!!!

Thank you for these tips and tricks, Marie-Anne. I have been wearing the monochrome look for many decades now and love how it makes me look tall and thinner. It's a very flattering formula. You are so right: do not be concerned with the model's body, but instead, ask ourselves what we can learn from the ensemble that will flatter us. And, you look stunning in your white dress; your slender, toned arms are elegant, too!

Another fantastic styling lesson, Dear Marie-Anne. I love the white dress you are wearing !! So perfect for summer and it suits you so well. I could have pulled of the blue outfit as is when I was younger. The top would suit me, thought I prefer it just a little looser. The pants would fit me better without the front pleats. The shoes are impossible to wear for me, both for my feet and for most places I go to. I'm 68 and wear mostly flats, some wedges and lower heels. I kept just a few of my high heels for restaurants or places where I sit most of the time. No more stiletto kind of shoes for me, even thought I love them.

I just packed two boxes of clothing for donation. I threw away all items of thin and clingy fabric. Before, I thought these were more dignified because they were loose-fitting. Wrong! I see it much differently now. They make me look huge and lumpy. It's clear. From the "no" pile, I tried on some fitted and tailored items that I meant to discard. I kept some because I could see that they gave me a more definite shape, even despite my tummy. I can still use them. It is a big change in vision. I thank you for the smart message about how we see ourselves as older women.

Hello Marie-Anne. I love your ideas. I am very short and would love to buy a winter coat. I found one which I like but I am wondering what the length should be. It is a very simple design with a smallish collar and no fussy bits, button, buckles etc. It goes down to my calf area, but I am wondering if it would look more flattering to my height if I shorten it to the knees or just above? Thank you for your suggestions.

This outfit is one of my favourite colours - I am 1.83 cm tall and my biggest problem is my tiny waist 59cm when I was 21 I had 48 cm waist its not in balance with my 90cm bust E cup ( I had breast cancer and have had surgery so is not my what i would be genetically) and my hips 88cm. I always have problems of my trousers and skirts needing a belt which I am not always happy about. I would love to be smaller and not be so skinny its not always about wanting to look thin. We women are never happy let's just love ourselves for what we are.
