How to make a rugby tackle like Sam Underhill!
Keypoints:
1. Pre-tackle
-Eyes on ball carrier's hips
-Close down space with quick, short steps
-Get into a low and strong position
2. In-tackle
-Plant leading leg as close to the ball carrier as possible
-SHOULDER TO THIGH: aim your shoulder to ball carrier's thigh
-Lock ball carrier: CHEEK TO CHEEK, KNEE TO CHEST
-CHEEK TO CHEEK: Put your head (cheek) on the side of BC's glutes (buttcheeks)
-KNEE TO CHEST: Grab BC's knees and squeeze them into your chest
-Leg drive while keeping back straight
3. Post-tackle
-Bounce up immediately for rucking/jackaling
