Let's be honest. This is where couples fail one another in general. The selfishness in this era is sickening. A lot of people don't exhibit a selfless approach towards ANYONE, family, friends or a spouse. It's really sad to see and it's why dating nowadays is a complete joke. Women feel unseen by their man and men feel unseen by their woman all because we don't take time to show appreciation and interest in things we like that we don't like or benefit from.
@asentientgoose

Amen!! I do my very. eat every day to share a little joy, love and happiness and you see how far it goes, and how these people react to a little tenderness. Like a weight has been lifted off them. Unfortunately, it’s rare to see that kind of selfless behaviour en masse and it can be exhausting being the person that people rely on for comfort. Selflessness is a wonderful virtue and the world would be so much better if we all earnestly tried to care for one another.

That just told me that he obviously ignored or disregarded things of importance that I have told him. When I told him I wanted to return to school to further my degree, he looked at me and said, why the hell would you wait to be so old to go back to school? That’s for young people! That really took the wind out of my sail… hi sit on the board of directors for a center for independent living, and he tells me why would you volunteer your time and when you cute get paid elsewhere? Totally ignoring that I get fulfillment from volunteering at an agency, that ensures equal opportunity and accessibility for the disabled. I knew he was self-centered and arrogant at times, but he really has taught me what a narcissist is… And I had to get off that emotional roller coaster! Real true stories, you really don't know a person unless you live with them first , I guess. So there you go, maybe you can understand that.. btw who the hell enters a relationship starting out toxic? I'm not a street person. I do have values and boundaries. ( im cleN now dont worry) He never says he loves me without ne saying it first, but he shows me he loves me with every breath he takes. And i will support him in every battle that he may have if hell communicate it to me. I just wanna serve him like the absolute badass, shy, quiet king that he is. 7 years going strong Nd this man pulled me out the streets being homeless and doing the most to survive and on heroin. He saw past all that to who i was actually and stood by me a lot of the time to his detriment and suffered im sure but he has my full respect and total love and attention now and until forever. Right!!!!💯 My new man asked me questions!! Versus my ex never asked me questions about anything that interests me. Even when I started a conversation, my ex usually didn't respond but if he did respond, it was a half-ass response like saying "oh really? Or uh huh" and then he would quickly change the subject to talk about HIMSELF or what's interested to him. So my new man definitely paid attention to lil details and it impressed me bcuz he's showed that he's interested in me & not just only in what can benefit him or that's interesting to him.

Why in heterosexual couples when it comes to cooking they go straight to the females as if a man can cook for his woman cooking is not a woman’s thing doing laundry is not a woman’s think it’ll be a mutual thing

Long comment ahead to put you ladies up on game. Many men (not all)are very calculated. Some are great actors & will pretend to be interested in your interests. They can keep up this act for a longgg time depending on how much they can get outta you. They love hearing about a woman's interests because it's a way for them to size her up, thinking of ways to utilize her traits & resources as an advantage. They will later come up with ways to exploit those interests. For example, a woman's interests are volunteering/feeding the homeless-he'll compute that as her being a potential people pleaser, being over-generous & expecting nothing in return. That's a plus for him. Another example: He knows a woman likes to donate to charity. He computes that as, you have no hang-ups about giving money up...freely. They'll even go as far as mirroring your mannerisms & gestures during face to face conversation-Small things like you touch your face & seconds later, he touches his own face, looking deep into your eyes while doing it. Or a woman might make a wide-eyed facial expression then smile, then seconds later, he'll do the same. A woman will walk away feeling intensely drawn to this man when all he just did was play into the woman's subconscious mind. Men who REALLY know the game do things like this. Some salesmen have been taught to use the same techniques with potential buyers. Rather than dating while constantly being hypervigilant about protecting my heart when I first meet a man, I'd rather keep my behind out the dating pool.

@@lovinglifelikemaryjane4240 Some men do that though...and willingly. And if that is the treatment she is accustomed to, then that's why she expects that. You have to decide if that's the type of boyfriend you want to be. And then ask yourself if you can afford it. Then figure out how much, how often, and for what. Once you know all that, let her know that these are the terms you have to offer. And you have to be willing to walk away instead of caving (outside of a minor compromise). LEAD your ship captain. @@lovinglifelikemaryjane4240 And about reciprocation. You need to be vocal about your wants/needs. I bet you wouldn't be so hung up on treating your woman with some nail money if you felt you were getting your needs and love languages met. Figure out what reciprocation looks like for you, write it down, communicate it to her, and if she doesn't consistently start coming through, then not only does she not get money...but you also cut her loose.🤷🏾♀️

Young ladies,older women dnt go near those chat lines on meeting nobody in prison..😮I'm trying to tell you something good, dnt do that s*** they will try to f***** up your head.. Smfh😮🤔🤫

Never. Never ever. He was forced to watch my favorite tv shows.. good girls and hell's kitchen, because I wouldn't stop watching them to attend to HIS NEEDS and WANTS. He won't let me read my poems to him, even when they are about him... He straight up tells me, "I don't care." I tried to tell him about my favorite book, and same thing. He stops me and tells me he doesn't care. He won't let me listen to the music I like. He calls all the music I like "annoying" and tells me to turn it off or he will leave. . . He won't let me watch the videos I like on KZitem when he is around... He actually told my brother-in-law that I'm only a good girlfriend when I'm a sleep, and that he wishes he could sedate me and keep me that way... Last month I spent my last $30 on food. One day he picked me up and told me to take the food, so I assumed I was going to stay at his house for a few days.. but the next morning, he fought with me and told me to "GTFO here," (meaning his house). I was already standing outside, so he just slammed the door in my face... I tried to find a ride home and when he finally came back outside, he grabbed one of my bags and threw it over the wall from his backyard to the front yard. He kicked in both of the front doors to get into my house, because I locked him out... Luckily I was able to fix the main one, but the porch door couldn't be saved... He left me at his house one night recently, until 3am. When he got home, he stayed in the living room, so I went out the back door and slept in one of his cars... He finally came out around 5:30am and told me to go back inside, even though he was awake that whole time... When I asked him where he was, he yelled at me, "Why does it matter where I was?!" . . . Sheesh..... /(٥↼_↼)\ I know, I know.. it is MY OWN FAULT for staying/putting up with it... But he is literally pretty much the only connection I have to the outside world... I live in the desert and never go out.. unless HE picks me up and takes me.. and when he does, it's pretty much JUST to his house for a few days and then back home. .. . .... .. ... To make a long story short... Yeah, no, he is definitely not interested me.
