One of the rules of aggregate queries is that every field must have an aggregation performed against it. However in some situations you will have to use a field to simply perform a calculation or apply a filter. You can use "Expression" function or "Where" clause. Expression and Where clause don't perform any grouping. This video explains in detail how to use the "Expression" and "Where" clauses.
