#ga4
How do I show the traffic from each social media platform in GA4? Not just showing the domains for each social platform, but actually grouping them together?
This reporting feature was available in Universal Analytics, but isn’t in GA4 (yet). In this video, Dana walks you through the steps to create a custom channel group so you can track and report on each social channel (Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) in your Google Analytics 4 account.
Channel conditions you can use to define your Custom Channel in GA4 will have different conditions based on the social channel.
- Condition group = source
- Conditions = matches regex (LinkedIn) or partial match (Twitter) or contains (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest)
So, for the LinkedIn channel group details in the video you will select, partially matches regex, and then type in linkedin|lnkd. That'll capture all the possibilities that we saw for LinkedIn.
