I'm glad someone agrees the feet on the bench is a bad idea!

Watching mindpump videos has become a pre-workout ritual haha. Love watching these before I workout so each time i get into the gym i'm implementing/learning something new. Thanks a lot. I cannot tell you how much I love all your content!

a tip you might want to add. No need to have the DBs touch at the top of a press. Because there is no contraction there at the top if you make the DBs touch each other. You want to keep tension on the muscle.

Anyone question that bench press form? My understanding is that it simply puts you into more of a decline press position as well as actually limiting ROM and thats why power lifters do it. I think the best advice for a bigger chest is to focus on incline press at about 30 degrees.

the argument is always about volume, this is the way you'll lift the most possible weight and therefore its the best for chest growth, but incline is also really good

Volume is certainly a very significant factor, but only in the context of actual muscle fiber activation. Also significant is time under tension. In a decline bench press (which is the de facto position when severely arching the back) the load is primarily transferred to the lower pecs, lats and triceps. Although the lower pec is where the majority of pec fibers are located, the triceps and lats are also much more engaged, and this position therefore under-stimulates the mid and upper pec fibers while also reducing the range of motion and therefore the time under tension. Power lifters make use of the position for these reasons (lower pec fibers, lats, triceps) but the overall chest development suffers. At least, thats my understanding...

@jnananinja7436 I was going to say the same thing; this type of pressing slightly mimics the decline press, which enables you to lift heavier but not necessarily develop the pecs. I also agree that doing too much flat benching is not the best. Inclines are where it's a

Love it. Was annoyed at first when I couldn't see what Justins lower back was doing against the bench during comentary due to the black shirt on black bench. (no shirt maybe 😆) but, it turned out well in the rows. keep em coming.

I don't have a bench at home, can you guys show a video using a physic ball? Or should I invest in getting a bench for better performance? Thanks, Love the podcast:)
