Conclusio: The NATO never expanded to east, Latvia was member of NATO since 1834. Victoria Nuland never said "f* Europe" and USA never suscribed a memorandum with Zelensky to integrate Ukraine to NATO structures in September and the again in December 2021.

Lots of omissions by Plokhy. Crimea was never legally part of Ukraine. After the Nazi atrocities in Donbas and Odessa, and 8 years of bombardment of civilians, banning of Russian language and education, Russia finally intervened in 2022. The rejected Minsk agreements asked only for Donbas autonomy, not independence, restoration of Russian language (spoken by 70% of Ukraine) and EU membership but not NATO. Zelensky (ordered by UK/US) rejected the agreements. Add those facts to the interview ...
@xxvxxv5588

Russian language isn't spoken by 70% of Ukrainian population as main language. Even if think about Crimea as part of Ukraine it's 45-50%. And the main reason why this number is so high is because historically russian language had privilege over Ukrainian, since ethnic Russians in Russian Empire and Soviet Russia were privileged majority ans ethnic Ukrainians were discriminated minority. Affirmative action in favour of Ukrainian language is completely reasonable.

this is some kind of madness.. it is madness to praise again and again for the presence of “democracy” and at the same time see this country as poor and anarchic.. The main advantage is not praise for the presence of pseudo-democracy, but the presence of citizens who have rights, protection, prosperity and of course freedom guaranteed by the constitution. Many in the West and in the world do not know the true retrospective and unfortunately receive false information about the “democracy” for which this country is praised

One key aspect is Putin's fear of Russians demanding a free and democratic Russia, because that would also mean independent courts and rule of law. It will happen anyway but Putin thinks he can delay this development of democracy and Ukrainian lifestyle coming to Russia, until he's gone. This realization came after the Orange revolution.
@95valero

Orange unconstitutional coup - it was just rehearsal to what we saw in 2014. And US State Dep acknowledged that spent 5 billions to remove president from power. You can find at least 50 - 60 times when US did so - Chili, Lybia, Iraq....

@@JohnDoe-iq9bz 😄I guess you need to know a little to follow this, but it's not that difficult really. For Putin a democratic Russia is not an option, something he realized around 2004. It's easy to forget how this war started in 2014 and why.

The version expressed by Serhii seems more biased than not. He says that the war un Ukraine began in 2014 after Putin annexed Crimea. That's factually false. The war in Ukraine began in 2014 after the orchestrated coup sponsored by the US. This prompted Putin to annex Crimea a few months later. In the wake of the coup the puppet government put in charge in Kiev by the US then began prosecuting and bombarding the people in Eastern Ukraine, largely Russian speaking, who refused to accept the new government oppressing them. Mr. Plokhy here passes for an authority on historical events while omitting, by design or ignorance, pivotal facts. The objective here is false propaganda against Russia, especially Putin, by totally ignoring key facts as to what really happened in Ukraine behind the scenes.

this is really now a case of POV.. one side argues they are looking at the number 6 and the other the number 9 and none of them would budge and compromise.. narrative mentions about the abuse of the police but there are no mention of the possible proliferation of EU goods to the borders of Russia had they not ceased the EU thing... anyway.. i am listening to an echo chamber here.. Lex asks cite the key significant events- then he cites them and goes on the narrative with omitted facts... if Russia or China would rule democratically - it is tantamount to them selling their nation to the west - suicide. quo detat and other sedition tactics by the US to install their puppets.. history has it from South America to Egypt to the East.. what is this guy talking about?
