This was super helpful! Thank you! One question though - what do I do if the succulents I bought came in regular soil? Should I try to remove as much of the regular soil as possible before planting it in the succulent soil mixture? (i'm about to try making a succulent centerpiece for the first time 😬🤞🏻) thanks so much!!

If it was me, I would try to remove as much of the older soil as possible without damaging the roots too much. Just remember when planting succulents make sure the soil is pretty dry before had. It can cause root rot if messing with the roots when wet 😉 Hope this helps Wishing you the best of luck🌱

I just got into succulents recently, and I'm in Pasco fl, as you know we get our rain, should I keep my succulents covered or leave them outside with the Right soil...I'm feeling conflicted

when you water … are you using captured rain water ? Or do you allow tap water to sit a day or 2 to let the chlorine evaporate ? Just curious . It’s a habit of mine to water then refill the water bucket up and let it sit about a week to let off the chlorine naturally. My gardener friend told me about this and I’ve done it ever since . Any opinions ?

That's perfectly ok.. I usually keep all of my jugs full, with both rain water (when available) and faucet water (I'm on a well).. I place them in a cool, dry place, keep the lid off for at least 24 to 48 hrs so some of the harmful chemicals evaporate and then I water with it, put the lid on and store the rest. Hope this helps😊 Sounds like your doing the right thing 👍 Plants love rain water when they can get it, but regular faucet water should be ok. In my experience when using rain water, my plants seem to grow much faster and healthier vs faucet water. Here in Florida it's easy to get rain water but we do have weeks on end where it doesn't rain. In that case, I just use distilled water for my sensitive plants and faucet water for the rest.

It's the best lol. They have entire succulent and cactus tool sets.. Honestly, it makes planting and handling them so much easier... Amazon has great deals on all sorts of mini tool kits, just hunt around a bit for whatever fits your needs😉
