While science can tell us a lot about how our senses and our brain works, Yoga and Vedānta can help to give us a more complete understanding of perception by informing us of the role that attention, the creation of vṛttis in the mind, and most importantly, consciousness, all play in the perceptive process.
This video, which has been created by editing together various videos, audio and pictures, features:
Parivrajika Divyanandaprana Mataji, Swami Sarvapriyananda, Satyanarayana Das Babaji, Swami Tadatmananda , David Chalmers, David Eagleman

Verse 14 from Chapter 7 of the Bhagavad-Gītā (mentioned at 16:26 in the video) where Lord Kṛṣṇa says that Māyā as His deluding, external energy:
दैवी ह्येषा गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया ।
मामेव ये प्रपद्यन्ते मायामेतां तरन्ति ते ॥ १४ ॥
daivī hy eṣā guṇa-mayī
mama māyā duratyayā
mām eva ye prapadyante
māyām etāṁ taranti te
Translation:
This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature (sattva, rajas and tamas) is very difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it.
