Two things, first at 8:02 in the video, check out the bottom extractor point. It looks deformed. Secondly, It looks to me that the base of cartridge is going up past the top of the recess on the bolt face and that is why the base is up too far when going into the chamber. As you push the bolt further forward the cartridge can not go back down into the recessed bolt face because it is sitting on top of the extractors, maybe. Has this damaged the bottom extractor. We need a close-up of the bolt face and cartridge during a misfeed to see exactly where the base of the cartridge is in relation to the bolt face recess. Cheers.

As a "gun guy" you better have a good gunsmith for issues like this. Rather than send my guns to the factory for feeding issues, they go to my long time friend and gunsmith buddy. He know what to do whether its a rifle or a pistol. And you know where it is and can communicate rather than be left in the dark for months. Your frustration is so understandable and unwarranted!

What a bummer . You might have to do like a guy I know who kept sending a scope back for repair and the company kept sending it back saying there was nothing wrong . After sending it back four times , on the fifth time he cut the scope in two and asked them if they could find any thing wrong now . Kind of over the top but true .

Unfortunate. I noticed that the reviews out of Australia 🇦🇺 didn’t appear to have so many feeding issues. I wonder if it’s because they were primarily shooting graphite coated lead ammo SK, Ealy, S&B, etc. I also experienced an issue similar to this in a.22LR sometime ago. Disassembling and cleaning the magazines seemed to help. Good luck 👍🏼

As for sometimes you get a "bad one" from what I've seen and read it's a bad one alright as in one bad line of rifles. And you are right it is such a shame cause it's a nice rifle to shoot and carry round varminting etc. Just a shame that they are totally unreliable

It should be common sense but maybe Howa should try more than just a mag or two, and try more than 1 type of ammo. They should also try running the bolt at different velocities. It doesn't look like you're running it too hard, but have you tried running the bolt slower to see if it then works? Just a thought, though you should be able to run the bolt at the velocity you were without issue. I have ran rimfire bolts way harder and faster and they still fed 100%...

To buy a rifle and have to wait for 5 months and receive the same problem back would not make me happy. I've never had to send a firearm back for warranty work though. It's always been something pretty simple that caused malfunctions. A bad magazine or polishing a feed ramp. I wonder if the feed lips on your magazine are allowing the front of the nose of the round to stick up to high. I've had AKs that I had to "adjust" the feed lips of magazines mis-aligned before. Are the magazines plastic for this rifle? I'm thinking that the rounds are having the rims pop over each other in the magazine.

I would never spend a single penny for one. If somebody tried to give me one, i would tell them to keep it. Couple fella`s locally at the club had issues with theirs, they got rid of them and stepped up to the Ruger American 22 rimfires. Guess what, ZERO problems with their Ruger`s. Mr Hide, its time to bury this POS and never look back.

Really unacceptable customer service, if that is what they want to call it. Some companies do have their spoofs, sometimes called "A Friday gun". I got a Remington 710 in 30-06 around 2005 and it was HORRIBLE. At the time, I thought it would be similar to their R700 line...the BDL line at minimum. Was not so...bolt stuck upon opening and closing unless it was pulled exactly in line with the action. If not, it would bind. This made the bolt handle useless because using the round handle offset the angle and it binded. I had to open the bolt with the handle, then pull the bolt back by grabbing the rear of the bolt body so it is in line through out the action. Accuracy was bad with 2-4 minutes of angle with 4 different factory ammunition loads. Another 30-06 my uncle had shot all that same ammunition into 1 and 1 1/2 inches at 100 yards. The trigger was variable from 4lbs to 7 lbs...no knowing when it would change trigger pull on different days. I sold that rifle to a pawn shop and got a corded Ridgid circular saw for woodworking. I feel your frustration, man.
