I find that when I carry my gear in my mane back pack and my sleep system , cloths and shelter in a separate sling bag it makes it so easy to drop half my gear in a pinch . What you carry is the true beginnings of modular systems and is a great inspiration To return to simpler ways . Thanks !!!

I was surprised that you didn't wrap the outside in a waterproof ground cloth. The carry cords were a great idea. Thanks.

Thanks. I could not figure out the "straps" until I saw you tie one end and put the carabiner through it. The ability to make a carry a Hudson bay pack means I can still pack out what I need even if my pack is not in my truck. It's a bit of a surprise to me that many survival and bushcraft folks talk about making stakes but few have make your own packs. The easiest for me is to use the tarp and/or blanket itself. Wonder if any of the trail hikers who sleep under tarps instead of tents also use the tarp for a pack?
