I was released from work early this morning due to a low case count. With my brother occupying the house completing midterms for school, I decided to head east to Van Wert, OH and nab the westbound CFE LIFW and give chase to it. Lately, the former GTW GP40-2 with the RS3L was the westbound leader, which made the chase a little bit more exciting. I sat at CP ESTRY (which is still guarded by former PRR PLs) for a few hours waiting on the train to come west there. Once it showed there, I went west back into Indiana and grabbed the train at track speed through Monroeville, IN. Despite it still being jointed rail through there, the train was still doing track speed of 40 MPH the whole way. In addition to the normal freight being moved, a sand train delivered from the WLE the night before was also in tow, making the train well over 100 cars, and giving all 3 geeps a workout. Listen in on the sharp RS3L and the click-clack of the train over the jointed rail! It was a super fun early afternoon!
Enjoy!
