I always train fasted, 1 hour weights after a 10 minute cardio warmup! 59 years old and I have no problem with energy levels etc, I then don’t eat for another five hours afterwards, I find it the best way to trim down whilst keeping muscle tone.

I can't remember the name of that gold-metal swimmer from around 2008. (Micheal Phelps?) The news said that he ate 13,000 calories or so a day. It sounded like a bunch of bull.

Interesting…I read an interview recently with one of the ‘Hollywood fitness trainers’ and he just wished his clients would come clean about steroids. He noted; to take the average fit client and add 10-15lbs of lean (!) muscle in 4- 6 months it was the only way. His main point: that shouldn’t be seen as a negative…they’re not competing in sports and the amounts used were far less than one would expect in say a high level bodybuilder. Also, let’s not forget the movies scenes are staged! I do remember HJ talking on TV about how they filmed all the scenes without his shirt on for one of the Wolverine roles in a few days, so that he could go back to eating carbs once again!

John meadows was a firm believer in having just the right foods in your system for an excellent workout session. Some say pre-workout on an empty stomach reaches your system quick, than with food.

Supposedly the fasting workout is supposed to give more bang for the buck, even if you can't lift anything and stamina sucks. I'm skeptical though. Can't remember the scientific reason that's supposed to be in play....Good lord, he's doing 26 sets of chest exercises on Fridays? Did I read that right?

@@Fitand50Formula Action Hollywood stars being juiced is an obvious secret. About 18 years ago I was an avid fan of magazines like FLEX and MUSCLE& FITNESS. I did several of the workouts the body building icons said they did. The volume was too high(I'm not even talking of guys like Lee Priest😀) for me. I was getting injured. Those experiences taught me to take it at my own pace with the exercises my body is comfortable with(for example I loved doing upright rows but repeatedly had injuries within 2 weeks😠).
