My Dad was into arrow head collecting in the 1990s he found a bone too in a corn field. He called police and it was found that the body was Native American. The tribe came and held a burial. Know that whomever you found may be put to rest from your find. I know it’s stressful. But thankfully you found this, please update us all if you learn anything please.

I've attempted to get the news involved but so far, crickets. I haven't tried contacting the police who came out yet but if I don't hear something in a few days, I'm going to call. It's rather strange to have not heard back from them at this point.

@@ZachByrd I’d hope they’d take it seriously. The location you found the bone is a crime scene potentially. I mean they could of came back as older and in that really “unknown” range. Maybe it’s more common to find remains than we think. That’s a scary thought.

I found a human skull and other bones one day back in 2017 while out arrowhead hinting. You are right every thought goes thru your head about maybe someone is watching you who may of murdered that person. I reported to the police and it was from a guy who had wondered off one day here in Calera AL. Definitely a scary situation but glad the family got some peace on there family member.

Yes, human....but consider the length! At 1:25...maybe its the wide angle lens, but it appears quite long. Additionally, the femoral condyles and head are remarkably robust...and it appears to be an individual in their late 20's to mid 30's. Thanks for the video....glad your wife and kids missed this one...might have changed things for them a bit.

I've been there! Not a good feeling. I was mud larking on the river one day and came across a body. I didn't have a phone at the time and had to hike a mile or so back to my friends house to call the cops. I had to lead City and County cops on a 30-45 min. walk a different way to get there. It turned out to be a 17 year girl that was missing. I felt horrible for the family. They did arrest the 2 guys responsible a month or two later. Like you said, it's always in the back of your mind, it could happen. And it SUCKS when it does.

I had a great uncle find a Native American skull while looking for artifacts(this was 60-70 years ago). For whatever reason he decided to take it home before notifying the proper authorities. Well, to make a long story short, he got in touch with the right people when he got home and told them he had brought it to his house(he was a well known collector and had connections I guess.). Anyway, they told him they would stop by and pick it up sometime the next day. When they got to his house later the next evening he told them he had just decided to take it back and bury it where he found it......after that when anyone would ask him why he took it back he would always tell them the same thing......"Ah that ole thing aggravated me to death that night." I always thought this story was funny and kind of creepy at the same time lol.

Wow, that had to be a heck of a find. The missus was saying that it looked like a human femur from somebody that was pretty tall and relatively heavy. That's not likely to be Native American so... I'd rather not speculate on it's origins. I was surprised to hear "Ricky" referenced, the Chigg's go to gag-line. I have heard him admit that he has found human remains before but as a general rule he doesn't film them. That said right now he's releasing his French & Indian war fort discovery series which does have the potential to turn up human remains.

We found part of what I think is a femur bone in the area we burn lawn trash in. The house is in a very newly developed (within the last 2 years) neighborhood that uses to be all woods. I’ve tried to get someone to ID it but I haven’t been able to get anyone to give me an answer. I’m not sure what to do now because I don’t want to call the police over what could be nothing, but I don’t want to just let it sit. I’ve tried looking up to see if it matches, but I only have one end, so it’s hard to figure out with just that.

@@ZachByrd Just out of curiosity I did some googling on Native American heights and they seem to be as tall or taller than Europeans of their day. I didn't think the bone looked that old to be honest, but I wouldn't wouldn't rule it out completely. "Most North American tribes had a diet high in protein, especially red meat, which provided iron, iodine and other vitamins and minerals for greater height, more dense, stronger and bigger bones, teeth durability, muscle mass, stronger immune systems, cognition, etc. Heights of 6’ and over were quite common among Native American males. Europeans and the working poor in America, on the other hand, rarely got red meat and subsisted on starchy vegetables such as potatoes and cabbage, and bread." www.notesfromthefrontier.com/post/standing-tall-1800s-native-americans-were-tallest-in-the-world#:~:text=%22The%20Plains%20Indians%20had%20a,were%20under%2C%22%20Steckel%20says.&text=Heights%20of%206'%20and%20over,common%20among%20Native%20American%20males.
