Nice tractor, looks like it could use some weights on the back. Your method for plowing also needs some work.

they make a stronger blade, it also has l/R angle control, 10 years ago I bought that 1, it worked great, could even be used for light dirt moving, yeah I moved a LOT of dirt, broke the rear axle, bent the plow mounts but that thing took a pounding, still cutting grass with it

Was it a pain in the ass to install ? Have the whole kit but no chains for the back wheels so i figure whats the point till i get those chains . I just want to know if it's a project or a 2 hour or less install ? thanks for any input
@danishredneckviking7179
2 жыл бұрын
Chains are good if you use turf tires to get grip but you need weight in the back wheel weight water in tires or something to weight it down in the back. Well the first time it's quite a bitch( 2-4 hours) but after it's only about cotterpins and 2 bolts. 20 min install max.

Usually on a gravel drive way it is better to pack the first snow fall to secure the gravel then once the snow base is there it will be a lot easier and less mess to clean up in spring. Especially if you are going to use a snow blower. Learn't this by experience after taking out two windows in the sunroom. ...hee hee. Or at least raise up the plow by adjusting the side legs to now plow so low for the first couple of snow falls. Just saying.

It's illegal to push across roadways. $250.00 fine where I'm at. Not allowed to push into ditches either. I guess 2 guys last year for doing it not once but twice. It's even in their contracts along with any fines,fees,cost. For doing so is their responsibility not the company's.

Mr. Williams i have a similar set up for my John Deere d105 and it works great in 3” or less. The transmission on my lawn tractor can only handle that much. Overall for the $600 I spent on the plow, chains, and weights it was totally worth it. The key is to start plowing before it accumulates past 3”.
@matts5124

Dont do this in heavy snow not with a basic lawn tractor if you are buying one its not worth it unless you REALLY want to plow and have a tractor already

Looking at your tractor's hood is boring, bring your video up. You don't have enough weight on the rear, you should build a shelf in the back that you could add weight like a large bucket of ice water.

It looked like you were hitting some gravel in the video. Bring your bladeup to about 3/8ths or 1/2 this way your not bouncing that blade all over. This way you can still plow but smoother and. It so hard on the blade and tractor. Or with that type of system you should be able to just put some presser on the handle and bring it up some again to get over that gravel.
@blackbeard6663
5 жыл бұрын
It's all trail and error. Once you've been plowing as long as I have you start to pick up on things. Like the sound of that blade. I can tell it's bouncing all over and to low. You want to get low enough to do the job but not damage the blade.etc smooth and steady. Once I start hearing that sound in my truck I raise the blade up little at a time. Also make sure your running the right weight oil in that tractor for winter. Helps it run smoother and start better.etc
