This is big plus for ingenuity! But since you're litteraly now using a mini-mouse, this moded controler should record in games as a mouse. This plus aim-assist, is kind of unfair! People think is easier to play on a mouse. Well if you have rich parents and can afford the latest pc, the lastest shit in mouse, it is. But if you are playing on a budged pc, well have fun with that! Is enough the games are filled with retarded, i say that because is only logical answer to why, when you have aim-assist, wich is absurd and stupid to begin with, you also add mods like cronus and shit like that. The game is full of these cheaters but everyone cries abot pc cheaters. I was thinking myself to start a project making pen kind of, mouse for shooters, i mean imagine aiming with a pen as a mouse, something light, good for snapping. I mean is not that hard, but i need few mouses to ruin. I think i will just buy the cheapest i can find and if the thing works, i will make a better one. I was thinking instead of the flat surface the mouse sensor has, to make one slightly curved so you can control the recoil much easier. Anyway, i like your idea, of these mouse thing controler. This is what controler needs so that stupid aim-assist can finaly be removed! I would simply be ashamed to call myself a "pro" gamer using aim-assist. Is not an excuse, is simply there to sell the game to kids. Because we all know, if you are truly a gamer and you play games with passion, you have a pc.

@Tech Yesterday please read 3D print a controller frame without any buttons and the controller frame would be more like a bigger Xbox one controller and then where each of your fingers go, (all of your fingers) create buttons or keyboard switches or triggers depending on which finger you want NOTE: ”traditionally you would have triggers at your pointer fingers and x y a b under the analog stick ,but think outside of the box. you can put triggers to your thumbs or even your pinky’s you decide.” After that make each button and trigger exchangeable/customizable so for every person if they want a X Y A Or B button at where the triggers are they can do that. Lastly the buttons don’t have to be in the same format they are in on every controller. Grip the controller frame without any buttons or triggers and put the buttons where EACH finger ends up on the controller. Also add straps to put your hands on the controller so it can stay and you don’t have to grip it

This is amazing! ive been a console / Pc gamer for years. After spending sometime on PC, going back to console was always a chore. With the release of titles like cod mobile & Pubg mobile I realized touch style controls had to be the future. Id instantly get the hang of mobile and felt much more accurate when compared to the sticks. I even decided to purchase a Steam controller for PC with the hope of it being the holy grail. It was not, it just wasn't as accurate as I knew it COULD be. This looks to solve all the problems I came to the conclusion of. Great Work! Literally amazed and excited for what ideas like this could do for the industry of gaming peripherals. Id love a build guide for this project! SUBSCRIBED.

Pc features you can add: a scroll wheel, 2 more buttons for excessive use in games etc.

I'm relearning cad design on my own time to prepare for college and have been needing to practive rounded edges and complex shapes so I've begun working on making a more comfortable shape for this sort of controller and this is something I've though about. My thoughts so far is to have four paddles or mechanical buttons where your middle and ring finger rest and then do what he did with the buttons up top or put paddles branching from there towards the bumpers and/or triggers for extra inputs. A standard controller can already do around fifty of what I call "simple inputs" which are easy one to two button inputs and the addition of those two buttons could add like 12 more simple inputs between one bumper, two bumper and a mix of number and face buttons/dpad inputs. I havent thought about the scroll wheel though, so I don't have any idea as to where I could put that, though now that I'm thinking about it I could but it just below the triggers. Then if I felt like it I could put two scroll wheels.

This is definitely better than regular controllers, but the reason kbm is so much better for shooters is because you operate the mouse with your entire arm instead of just your thumb. The single tendon running into your thumb is just physically less accurate than the dozen or so precise muscles that are in your wrist, forearm, biceps, and shoulder. it's like doing surgery with a 10-foot pole vs a scalpel.

I think a cool idea for a new controller is to create a controller that uses mouse buttons and keyboard keys for the d-pad or abxy buttons. You can also try using the side buttons or scroll wheel to replace the y button and the side buttons for the bumpers. It would be amazing to see a controller that uses these features, but still be able to minimize the size. If you go this route you might be able to maintain the mechanical button and trigger feel you get on mouse and keyboard. The scroll wheel aspect will make weapon swapping and anything with y button easier to use for FPS games. And being able to still have the mouse type feel in your right hand makes everything feel great

I had this same Idea, but the mouse part was actually smaller, the size of a Nintendo DS Thumb Stylus with a lower tip, a HIGH DPI compatible sensor and the surface was the same plastic as the Nintendo DS screens to create enough friction for the tip. It would work like Nintendo Switch Joy Cons with straps around the palms to keep them in place and allow 4 KEYBOARD type buttons to be placed on the back. I was also thinking about creating a joystick that is more like a SURFACE, similar to the Seam controller, but the hole face can rock when in the middle to also aid in input.

I'm tempted to test out left joycon + trackball sometime. One thing your solution can do that all of my existing configs can't is incorporate motion controls into the mix. Mouse + motion controls might be even superior to trackpad and motion controls. But before your design I don't think we've had a way to test.

This is great! Please patent it. I'm a very casual gamer and play stuff like Risk of Rain 2. I always prefer to play with a controller, I know that you lose some accuracy that way. But I hate being hunched over a keyboard. After spending all day coding for work I like to lean back and be comfortable. Very innovative and honestly something I would buy.

I'm really interested in this controller aim innovation but with a trackball. When I looked I saw that Nvidia is actually just patenting it, with a joystick reset from touch sense tech. I'm wondering if in the meantime, there would be someway to get a trackball working in your controller, and have it reset to neutral on stop motion instead? Just a thought, because it could be another fun one for you to make, and also the design doesn't require losing some of the buttons/as hard on your thumb.

Yoooo i want one! never seen this channel but now I am now a forever subscriber. Maybe try 3d printing out a switch controller, that might give you more length/space/ room to work with. Also i saw at 9:15 that you were veering off the pad a bit maybe in the future models you can add pumps or rivets so that the user will feel when they're getting closer to the edge! does it have an inverter y- axis option, I'm sorry to say but I am one of those people who play inverted,

You should add extra outward buttons to the back of the controller for the index fingers. So you flick your right or left finger outwards from the controller and there is a button there waiting for you Check out the Azeron game pad if i haven't explained it well. I use one and it has so many more buttons to keybind! Its a huge game changer!

You could add rubber grips to the handles and audio input and output for a tiny mic and speaker.

Thank you so much, Tech Yesterday. I use Azeron keypad and Logitech G600 mouse. The Azeron has a analog joystick acting as wasd in Fortnite. reWASFD software might actually be a way I can use 360 movement, I'm excited.

I think your controller is cool as can be and I would love to try one out someday. But I do have to disagree with you about the steam controller. Not only does the touch pad work as a mouse but also the gyro's inside the controller. It definitely takes some getting used to using both at the same time and some patience adjusting it. But once you do it is very nice. My accuracy is great and I definitely hit my targets way quicker than I ever did with a joy stick.

That's so awesome! I'd stick with the same idea but with a scuff controller for the additional buttons on the back and have the adjustable hair triggers for short presses for fps games.

Like a controller similar to the Nintendo switch controllers but moving it the right controller would move your screen up down left right as if your where using a wii controller the shape would be the same as the nunchucks on the wii controller but bigger and they would be connected by a cable this could be done by creating a universal sensor that could be plugged into any device with a USB port

Universal sensor for movement i mean the idea is inspired from the wii sensor the sensitivity would only be possible to change depending the distante the user is from it or the space the sensor can scan but it would not need to be that necessary cause you would be using your while arm and it be a type of exercise

If this is actually better than the usual controller, it should be a real thing

Amazing Idea and execution, I would have found a way to incorporate the mouse wheel on the controller, they are always super helpful especially in games outside of first-person shooters. There seems to be some space under or around the left thumbstick. Could probably even change the form of the wheel to look more like a volume control type wheel just a thought great vid guys.

I've thought about the exact counter part of this. I just don't have the enough knowledge to do it. Half right of the controller acts also as a mouse with a cursor, so you move the whole half of the controller like a mouse. and the left would be the ordinary half of the controller with extra buttons for other stuff

For me, I would try to downsize it to the size of a switch controller and add a couple centimeter high barrier around the edges of the pad for the optic sensor so it's easier to find the edges.

I don't mean a joycon when I say "controller." I'm referencing when both joycons are seated in the controller she'll.

You should add a gyro as well. Gyro for the big movements and mouse thumb for the small movements. Just opposite of what has been tried with DS or Steam controller. And make the deadzone of the gyro generous. This will be the future of "controller" gaming or as I like to classify it: gaming without additional surface support.

man, I love this. I'm 38 yo and I've tried everything on gamin pads/mouses/controllers. This was my idea years ago. Nice to see it working. Same happen to me with hori tac pro, aim assist on mouse . it was so unfair that I really did not ever used it on ps4 as controller, hahhaha.

I love the ingenuity, but that doesn't look too comfortable for smaller hands. I recently made the switch from console and bought an Azeron. I feel that is a far better solution to the keyboard.

It’s crazy I had an idea like this a couple months after playing warzone and seeing how mouse and keyboards players play v controllers. Dope and creative way to add these 2💯
